Don't wait - you should be there when they open on Monday!

Damn you guys are on top of everything. I am not even in the region and was talking to the dealer trying to work out something LOL. Guess someone closer probably has a better chance of getting it. I would be concerned about rust though.

Edit: looks like someone mentioned the same thing.

Yeah unfortunately I'm out of state. I've already basically told them I would buy it and take delivery if they did a test drive with video for me. At this point it is what it is, I've been searching for a manual x-drive for a couple months now. This one will not be ending up on BaT if I get it.

FWIW, it doesn't snow that much in Maryland. I grew up between DC and Baltimore, and we'd get 1-2 snowstorms a year, and each time the snow would be mostly gone after a day and completely gone after a week. If a car is generally taken care of, it won't rust in Maryland. Its not California, but I wouldn't automatically cross a DC/MD/VA car off the list for it being from there.

Our Acura MDX came from DC, and the parking dings from street parking in DC are more evident than any rust.

Not entirely. Shitty thing is when I talked to the salesman on Saturday, I told him I was ready to go and I’d take delivery if I could get a video of it driving, he told me they’d have to do an inspection on it to do a test drive and they’d be doing it today since it came in over the weekend. I guess I could have said fuck it I’ll buy it however it is, but I’ve already looked at one that had major problems at low miles and didn’t buy. Not like I’m flush with cash to be throwing it around without looking at the engine first. I’m not looking to flip, I just want a manual wagon.

^ Sometimes you need to take a leap of faith. Otherwise as you found out, someone else will.

When I bought my 993 that was the case. Called and said I'll take it.

Got there to pick it up and drive home and was asked if I wanted to take a test drive.

-No, I'm not even going to start it, lets do the paperwork so I can get on the road.

(would have been worth it even if there were problems with the car)

All I can say is be patient. It'll come.around. I've seen a few slip by me. My advice to you is buy a clean car for a decent price in a spec you like and find a competent shop to do a manual swap. Youll likely save a few thousand and while you're at it I would just have them refresh everything such as suspension arms and bushings, tune up, etc. You can probably get a nice car and a ton of work done under 20k. Unless you have a good history of the car, you're likely going to have to replace stuff anyways (brakes, tires, suspension bushings, etc). You can even find sport seats for relatively cheap. And even better/cheaper if you're handy with a wrench.

Lies!!! I've been looking for saddle sport seats for mine for over a year.
But agreed on the manual swap. That's what I did. Found a great deal on a low mileage southern example with the options I wanted, just not the transmission I wanted. Granted I bought just before the world went insane.

Ah ya saddle good luck lol. Thats pretty difficult to come by.

There's like 3 or 4 nice black sets available right now.

It also doesn't help that everyone on this board is a vulture and there's also tons of people (not on this board) trying to flip these things . So you have quite a bit of competition. I just need a daily for my doberman. Tired of dog drool in the e46 m3 and once it gets a half cage the rear will be useless.I'm literally buying a car for my dog LOL.

Hahaha, I’ve pretty much already been through that so I know what is possible. I’ve added everything I want into my F31. It’s got M3 carbon interior, door cards, g30 touchscreen, 6 series iDrive controller and I have M2 seats that are going into it as soon as I replace the lower cushion on one of them. Manual swap really isn’t an option for me in the F31 though as it’s almost impossible. Think I know of one F3x that has a swap and that’s a full F80 into an F31.

are you on Marketplace in S Florida? There are two dismantlers down there on the FL bimmer page that always have interiors. Not sure how often saddle comes through but I've seen it.

well anything is possible with enough money but I have a n47 engine that doesn’t have a manual version in the US so I would have to get a transmission from Europe from maybe a pre-LCI 320d, that might work. In the US manual gearbox in the 340i doesn’t match and there aren’t even many F3x manuals available in the US. I’ve heard the mechanical part isn’t the hardest, it’s all the electronics and coding that are hard. There also really isn't any info out there on how to do it like there is in abundance with the E9x.

Haven't been around the forums in quite some time, but just dropped in and thought I'd say hello. Still enjoying my E91, had thoughts of selling, but BaT turned it down. If I feel feisty, I might give Cars n Bids a go.. That being said, my E90 is absolutely for sale! PM if you have interest!

Did they turn it down or you couldn't come to an agreement on reserve?
