Mosselmann Thermostat vs MHD Sport Cooling

Is there any benefit to using a Mosselmann thermostat compared to using the stock one with MHD Sport Cooling?

I'm currently using the stock thermostat with MHD sport cooling option and it almost never goes above 110 degrees C.

yes, faster oil warm up but where it shine is the compact form factor to work with an upgraded oil cooler setup. i would check to see if ur oil tstat has been flipped or modded

No mines bone stock, just have MHD sport cooling option turned on. I don't plan on upgrading the oil cooler because I don't track the car and for road use it's perfectly fine. Does the Mosselmann thermostat upgrade warm up the oil faster than the stock thermostat?

Ok thanks, I was wondering if it's worth upgrading.

Just thought I’d ask if anyone has done it and really any benefits with running the Mosselmann Thermostat with MHD Sport Cooling. I already have the Mosselmann but haven’t coded the sport cooling on. Thanks in advance.

The Sport Cooling option will likely not do anything (it's for the stock thermostat) if you already have the Mosselmann thermostat, as your thermostat should already be keeping your oil temps around 110 degrees C or less

MHD Sport Cooling option opens the stock thermostat earlier as well but the Mosselmann thermostat looks like a better solution that's not tune dependant.

Thanks so much for the insight. Now thinking if there is really no negatives about doing sport cooling + Mosselmann, maybe I’ll try it and see if there is any slight improvement. I already have MHD and running stage 2+ so any cooling benefits with summer coming up would be great. Thanks again

My 07' 335i didn't come with an oil cooler. With MHD Sport Cooling mode on, I rarely even get the oil temps much over 235f. Though about adding an oil cooler....but at this point, not sure it's even worth the trouble.

If vehicle isn’t driven hard, like on race track, the oil thermostat modification, oil cooler, or additional oil cooler, or aux coolant radiator are not needed.
