I highly doubt it will be produced...well at least not for the US. But BMW trollers, I want an M version, with AWD and a 6MT!

Is there any speculation about BMW continuing production of the M8 Convertible for MY2025 starting in March 2024?

I wanted to hold off for iDrive 8 and whatever other upgrades might be left in the potential final year of production.

The end of production dates I publish have proven to be less than 100% reliable. If BMW decides a model doesn't sell well enough, it gets cancelled even if the plan was to make it for a longer period.

How much lead time notification does BMW give their dealerships about cancelled models? Do the dealerships find out when it is already too late to place an order?

Typically weeks, a couple of months. You need to be in a close relationship with the dealership so they call you as soon as they learn about it, otherwise you are likely to miss it.

According to the press release about the mid-2023 MPF, iX from 03/23 and i4 from 07/23 will get OS8.5, but others (like the 3er or 4er) will (for now?) not.

Does this mean that BMW will put new hardware into the iX and i4, or is that a software-level thing that is BEV-only? The pretty specific wording about iX built after 03/23 being RSU-eligible makes me wonder.

The new BMW 5 series (G60) will get a diesel engine higher than the 20d - the 40d version of the G70 with around 299 hp.

There are rumors about an even stronger version like a M545d version with the HP of the X5/X6 40d engine with 352 hp.

Is there anything you can say about that?

Those rumors are not grounded in reality. Diesel is dying even in Europe.

540d is coming next year indeed.

X5/X6 LCI has just gotten a 40d as well, but it's the proper ~350PS version. B57TU3 unlike the 740d.

There won't be anything other than 40d. Diesels are done pretty much.

Definitely not. You're getting the 540i and we're not so it's equal.

Correction to the G45 info: M50e xDrive is not planned for G45. It was a typo, this is actually the name of a potential X5 model.

More details on the G20 refresh for MY2025. US customers looking to buy this car in 2024 would be well advised to wait for the model year change.

Would it be safe to expect the refresh to match the interior update for the series 4 LCI?

G87 goes to 475hp starting with August 2024 production. This is the replacement for the current version and doesn't seem to be getting any kind of new designation.
