e91 EPS grinding noise

Hello,

I have an issue with my 2008 e91 325d where the steering makes a grinding noise at any speed when turning.
It has Electric Power Steering.

Otherwise power steering works flawlessly, there are no clunks, no deadzones and there is no grinding feel coming to the wheel. The noise seems to be the only problem.

What could be the issue?

Recorded the noise in video below:

So I got 2010 E91 325d too and it has made a rubbing noise since I brought it some 70k miles ago? But sounds like plastic on plastic maybe?
Tbh I really should hunt it down ! But never changed in all that time and like yours feels fine

So this does not seem to be a very common issue? Still not resolved and PS otherwise working fine.

Did not know that other countries got E9X's with EPS. Shame since the steering was what gave them nice feedback for the road. Back on topic, don't want to derail it.
