What’s an LSD got to do with it. It’s really easy to fit a different bars on the front there are three different stiffness m3 bars to choose from none of which change the preload. The problem with the rear is it requires the subframe to be dropped to get a new bar in. However I think a stiffer bar is probably too stiff on stock springs. I’m not adjusting preload I’m adjusting the leverage of the bar/stiffness. Even with the modifications I have done of about 2cm the bar is under no preload. Preload load is done by adjust the length the drop links and is used for different reason it helps to adjust corner balancing and is often adjusted to make a car stay straight when launching. There are some threads saying you need an lsd if you fit a stiffer ARB but it’s not necessarily true. There are a plenty more people who have fitted front and rear kits and have no complaints. |

Yes closer to shorten the leverage on the bar. It was a super easy job. I have some very high quality drill bits that when through like butter on a basic cordless drill. I drilled a pilot first and use a g clamp to keep it in place. I use lots of oil and flatened the mating surface with a grinder so the bolts sat flat. I sprayed with some primer and then chassis black before assembling. The paint hasn’t faired well so I have coated it in waxoyl. |

E93 vertical braces are on, I also made the diy subframe braces. Car fills very solid and a bit more direct. It has seemed to make about the same amount of difference as adding front strut bar. And so far it appear nvh has been reduced a little.
I also added polyurethane rear arb bushes and with the additional DIY ARB mounting holes to make the rear sway bar stiffer it’s just about right. The best bit is the car corners more neutrally and I get less under steer mid corner. |

Haven driven with the e93 front braces and diy subframe braces I can say that it make the front substantially more solid than a strut brace. Steering is more direct, nvh from m3 arms has been reduced. Suspension seems to be working to absorbs bumps as the chassis is twisting less.

Great stuff. I really wish the E90 had the mounting points for the E92/E93 front bracing.
Somewhat related but I was under a Merc C43 recently and couldn't help but admire its subframe bracing: Maybe my DIY subframe braces can be modified into an X instead? |

I still may try doing an Aluminium plate at some point but it is just finding a reasonably priced supplier. With some dimpling it will be much stiffer than bars. |
