Camber Plates Yes or No

My Indy says I'd benefit from having camber plates on my 335is.

current situation:

Front Measurements
-1.4 / -1.1 Camber
+7.6 / +7.4 Caster
+0.12 / +0.12 Toe

I have:
KW Street Comfort coil-overs lowered a bit
M3 Control Arms
19" 313s
PS4S 225s

My Indy said he'd recommend going with stock 335is camber, caster, and toe. The camber won't get there as it sits.

I don't track the car at all. Tires seem to wear reasonably even. The Indy is great and will do what I want. I thought I would reach out to you all for some practiced advice before I buy more parts.

What’s the point of going for stock specs with camber plates? Which benefit would there be according to your mechanic?
And what “problem” are you trying to solve? Uneven wear?

From the limited info you gave, you have plenty of toe, in my opinion double what it should be. This will contribute to higher then needed tire wear and probably more wear on the outside (shoulder)

Camber Plates Yes or No

Thanks a million for the response. Your points are well made. I need to check back with the shop because I don't know the answer to the questions you raised. Also the last thing I need is faster tire wear.

Agree completely.

Also, what specs is the shop using for camber? I'm not aware of any factory specs that your current camber wouldn't meet.

Thanks for commenting and tolerating my ignorance on this. The specs the shop is using are for a 2011 E92 Sport Perf 19" Wheel.

If the tyre wear is even and you're happy with how it drives, leave it be!

Personally I think those camber figures sound decent for a daily with some spirited driving from time to time.

many thank you's. Sometimes doing nothing feels right. Something always comes up though. I really like this car with its endless upgrade options. Keeps it fresh. I really appreciate the forum

Your camber is "out of spec" because of the added negative camber from the M3 wishbones. Correcting it with camber plates would undo the benefit of the M3 control arm.

If you haven't already, you could pull the alignment pins from the strut mounts for further adjustability, but I would add more negative camber instead

Leave it as is, these specs/results are perfectly fine. Camber is a bit off but as others said, in a good way, and because of the upgraded M3 arms.

Happy driving

Similar issues

Sorry to hijack this thread. That printout looked similar to mine from Firestone Auto. Does any know why alignment specs can get so bad?? I'm on stock sport suspension with m3 control arms and new tie-rods. I haven't touched anything else. The car recently started pulling to the left at highway speeds. My right camber is -2.5 without camber plates. My thrust should be zero and it's not. Does Firestone Auto even check for thrust angle? Firestone Auto said they can't align my car without special tools. It's obvious my original alignment was trash
