99% of the time you need to code it to your car.
If you have a professional headunit; then get a prefoessional headunit to match it as close as possible. I suggest getting Protool by BimmerGeeks. It's an Android app with no subscription and not VIN locked. You default/factory code the radio module/headunit and it will read the car's VO (Vehicle Order) and apply the correct settings to the radio. And I suggest joining their FB group since that's where their support is and the community support is great too. |

Legend!!! Well today I bit the bullet and just did it!!!! Bought a CIC, screen controller and centre trim….. the next few days should be fun 🤦🏻‍♂️

Does your current car has CIC in it? If you are retrofitting iDrive then it's a different story. There are threads here on how to DIY retrofit iDrive. But it's completely different from just replacing the headunit with a new/used one.

I have a CCC unit in at the mo…. Watched many videos and read through lots of stuff on here and by the grace of god by this time tomorrow I’ll have a new headunit

Then as I celebrated the win of installing the head unit….. my timing chain snapped and wrote the car off😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤦🏻‍♂️ happy Christmas lolololol
