Painting M Sport diffuser black
Hey guys was just wondering if anyone has painted their m sport diffusers black from the standard dark grey.
I want to paint mine black since my car is a dark grey and the diffuser blends in and doesnt look as aggressive as it should be. When painting it should i use a primer and paint combo spray like ‘Rust Oleum flat paint and primer black’ Or should i use that plus a black paint like CRC or something? Any help would be great thanks |

Unless you are skilled at painting, I wouldn’t recommend doing it yourself. I added a Sport bumper to my BSM E92 last summer and had the bumper and diffuser painted BSM. If I were you, I would either paint it to match your car or buy a carbon fiber diffuser.

Not e9x but I’ve had good luck with good prep (scuff pad and 91% iso to make sure no release agents, finger oils etc) and fusion matteblack (Lowes walmart etc)
Then I apply DG Hydroshield as a protectant/sealant a few days or week later once I’m sure it is fully cured. It gives it just enough sheen to look like factory raw satin black plastic but is painted and doesn’t fade like the raw plastic does. The diffuser is single piece on f3x, I two toned it with metallic grey and satin black fusion rattle can paint as indicated above for a more integrated look. Last pic is about a year later, still looking like new.
