iirc rear oe is 8.5 et37 and 9.5 et35 is usual ez fit rec, so up to a 20mm spacer is no problem with 8 et35. would do 15mm to match front sunk in

Yes I would really recommend using a fitment calculator like the above to determine where the old/new wheels would sit relative to each other and figure out what size spacer is necessary.
For example I run the 19" Style 313 wheels on my LCI E92 335i and need spacers to clear my brake calipers. I run a 12mm spacer at the front and rear. However, I want to reduce this slightly at the rear as I do get some arch rub on full compression. |

HOWEVER, rear tires are too set in like everyone said.
It’s about 1.5 inches to the OUTSIDE of the fender. I don’t want it outside the fender and maybe I bit inside. Looking for recommendations on spacer size. Isn’t 1 inch a lot? |

wow that's a lot.
If you want a flush look, big spacers are needed. There's debate on that, personally I dont like big spacers, and they are illegal here anyway. I run larger tire to run smaller spacer. If it's hubcentric, and a well known manufacturer, then go for it. |

Went with KSP spacers that are hubcentric and came with correct lug bolt length. Nice product with good reviews. 20mm in the rear and 12mm for the front (if I decide it needs it).
Definitely flushed them out but still just inside of the fender lip! |

My “!” was of excitement haha I’m thrilled with the outcome. My inflection didn’t come across. I meant “just inside of fender lip” in a good way.
Thanks for everyone’s help! I think it looks great and was the right way to do this. Ideally I would have bought 18x8.5 for the rear to reduce need for larger spacer but knowing it’s quality hubcentric with correct lug length, I think it should be fine. |

I wont do that much difference of track length from front and rear axle. Having different track length on a car can be important on high speed stability.
This is why most FWD car are wider in front and RWD in rear. Anyway, not the end of the world if you dont do 150mph+ I dont run spacers on my daily, but aggressive wheel offset instead. Had to run stretch tire |
