DIY: DCT paddle shifters retrofit for LCI paddle shifters
I am making this DIY because there is no information about it and I don't want other people will have the same problem as I had.
If your car is 2011 LCI and you have planning to add DCT paddle on your car, you need to add resistors. Here is quote from wanlong: Quote:
This is not really difficult to do, so here is information how to make. DISCLAIMER It's your car, not mine. PARTS Total Kit Cost $less $100 incl resistors, Soldering Tool Kit and heat shrink tubing Part 1 - Resistors - SIDE 6.2k ohm: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 348 ohm: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 + SIDE 4.99k ohm: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 1.18k ohm: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 DIAGRAM SKETCH Add resistors as diagram sketch, it works without any issues. I would like to put some photos how I add resistors on wires, but I am writing it after I finished to put DCT paddle on my car. I will take it off tomorrow to add LED paddle, so I will update it ASAP. |

For those who might wanna try this in the future.
I can confirm my dct paddles are working perfectly on my lci. Crappy soldering but you get the idea. BOM: 2x 61138377072 2x 61136931929 4x 61130005197 4x 61130005198 6.2K ohm resistor 348 ohm resistor (0.3KΩ is incorrect. 348Ω is the correct value) 4.99K ohm resistor 1.18K ohm resistor heatshrink Thanks to remlemasi. |

Saved my bacon on an X5
I know this thread is a bit long in the tooth.
I want to reply with my sincerest thanks for posting this information. I had to UNDO turning my DCT paddles from resistance-based to switch on-off and back to resistance-based for my 2013 LCI X5 x35i heated wheel non-sport. These adapter jumpers with the resistors led me to to finally get paddles working. I made the final connection under the hood at a connector leading to the 8HP tranny. Cheers and THANKS A MILLION Supermoon! |

Hello. I have a problem. I installed the M steering wheel with paddles from the F10 LCI 2015
My car is F01 pre LCI 2009 and the paddles don't work. The Coding is Correct. Is the shift paddle resistance different from LCI to pre LCI? What resistors do I need to use for the paddles to work? Thx |
