How much over invoice for 2009 E90?
I'm about to order a 2009 E90...expect that it would be delivered in the Nov/Dec timeframe.
Considering that it's refreshed, demand should be relatively higher. However, I plan on buying some extras with unknown mark-ups, such as OEM Performance wheels and the Mtech package, so that's probably easy money for the dealership. With that said, how much over invoice should I shoot for on my order? I'm thinking in the $1,500-2,000 range. |

I don't think demand will be as high as you thinking it is going to be. For an update to iDrive and the tweak to the rear and front and the few other things is probably not going to generate the demand as in 07 when the 335 came out with the TT engine.
If ordering now and the dealer still has 08's on the lot they probably are not going to be anxious to give you 1,500-2,000 over invoice on an 09. Probably best to order when all the 08's are gone.

Actually, if you're set on ordering one (vs. buying off the lot or through dealer trade), the dealer has no choice but to order an 09. There are no more allocations for 08's (and haven't been for about three weeks).

And no, I do not want this to turn into a my invoice was better than your invoice thread. But I would check Edmunds.com, they have a pretty accurate Invoice, MSRP and "National Average" for what people are paying.

I just paid INVOICE for an '08 335i coupe - optioned almost precisely as I wanted. They did, however, fleece me for the Sirius option ($800) but threw in floor mats. All in all, if you figure the Sirius invoice cost is about $500 and the floor mats cost about $100, I paid about $200 over invoice all in. And I got the 0.9% financing too, which is worth about $7500 to me.

Only pay $1000 or less over invoice. Plus a very low interest rate near the 0.9% financing being offered.
Exact Pricing for 2009 models should be out 1st week of August on CenterNet (BMW Ordering System). It will be a while before Edmunds has the Invoice versus MSRP prices for 2009. I think the dealer has to show you the invoice price if you ask. You will be shocked when you load up the car with options and figure that you might need $12K-$20K in options over the base price. Negotiate there too heavily... Ex. Alarm is $700, CD Changer is $900, etc. all unlisted on the BMW car configurator. ~$4500 for OEM performance RIM's...is crazy when you think, What about the rims and tires already on the car?...which you don't get to keep. You are really buying 8 wheels. M-Aerokit is twice the price installed and painted. Logic-7 Stereo is now an extra option. Sports seats are manual like a cheap rental car, and you need the Premium Package for $2000+ to get power seats plus junk you don't need. e90's and higher priced BMW's are selling slowly due to everyone being on vacation and the poor economy this summer. Cheers, |

Open your negotiation $500 below invoice
Even though it is a brand new model sales are down across the board so people know they have to negotiate to move inventory. When all is said and done you should easily be able to achieve your target, and possibly do better depending on how much time you want to spend shopping |
