2007 E90 328xi engine compatibility with 328i
Hi everyone, my father bought an 07 E90 328xi 6-speed with a blown engine and would like to get it back on the road for as cheaply as possible.
A while back I thought I read that the N52 for the 328xi differed slightly than the 328i, but I can no longer find where I read that. I also searched this forum but couldn't find any info on this. I apologize in advance if I didn't search well enough. Anyway, 328i engines are obviously way more plentiful than 328xi engines so it would be great if we could use one. If someone could confirm compatibility one way or another, we would greatly appreciate it! Thank you. |

It's the same engine.
Oil pan, perhaps some splash covers by the transmission? Regardless... if you have both engines sitting on stands in your garage it'll be a piece of cake to take any different parts from the bad one to the good one.
