ISO Custom Shift Boot
I just put on a new Black Forest Industries shift knob, but it's an aftermarket one so it doesn't have the same clip that the factory ones do. It just clamps onto the shifter. The attached images show where it pushes the factory boot down to. There is a ridge above the set screws where the boot is supposed to fit around, but the factory boot diameter is too small to fit the knob through. I'm sure I could make it work by pulling a few stitches out temporarily, but the boot is worn and old anyway so why not refresh it? I can't seem to find anyone that makes custom BMW shift boots, but I bet anyone who makes boots can make what I need with a frame provided. If you guys have any recommendations for who to reach out to I'm all ears.

People will pull the boot up, put a zip tie around the boot lip above the ridge and then push the boot back in place. It looks like it would likely be a tight fit for you. I bought my alcantara boot with M Sport stitching from Coby Wheel in Dallas and I like the look and feel of it.
