Issues after water pump replacement

I have just replaced my n54 with a new oem water pump and thermostat. I went through the bleeding procedure and it continuously went after the 12 minute mark, only stopping when I lock the car. Now every time I even unlock the car this bleeding procedure starts up again.

Here are the codes I am getting:
2E7C - BSD bus Communication fault.
2E85 - BSD, message; electric coolant pump: Missing.
2E8B - BSD, message; intelligent battery sensor (IBS): Missing.
2E8E - BSD, message; intelligent battery sensor (IBS): Missing.
2EA1 - BSD, message; oil condition sensor: Missing.

None of these codes were here previous to the installation of the pump and thermostat. I have also installed a brand new battery along with them, and had it on a tender during the bleeding procedure. I have checked the IBS and it is plugged in.

Does anyone know what could be going on? I have not yet attempted to start the car either.

This confirms you have an issue in the BSD Bus, try unplugging the water pump and reset the codes to see if any of them come back. Its likely that the new pump has an issue electrically that is knocking everything offline on the BSD bus.

What happens is when you have a misbehaving device that introduces noise onto the network it knocks everything else off. If unplugging the water pump doesn't clean up the communication for the IBS and oil level sensor, then unplug the alternator, do the same test, followed by the IBS, and finally the oil level sensor.

Where did you source the new water pump and thermostat from?

I got the pump and thermostat from fcp euro. I unplugged the ibs and the coolant bled properly and the codes went away. Before I took my old battery out I never unplugged this thing, so im not sure it was ever even plugged in. Do I even need this thing plugged in? The car is a 2007

So you don't "need" it to be plugged in, you will just always have a code for the IBS communication being down, it won't set an engine code or anything like that. In theory it will do a bunch of monitoring on the health of the car's battery, but its not the end of the world IMHO to not have one working.

Having similar issue with communication after water pump replacement

Did you problem end up being a bad replacement pump or something else?

I replaced my EWP on an N55 with a Pierburg pump and it worked for the first week, but now I am getting failure codes for communication and overheating again. Going to check connections today, but I am curious about how often the replacement pumps fail.

Update: Problem resolved. Did not fully engage connector latch to the pump and it worked its way off after a week of driving.
