I had fixed by a guy who was recommended in this forum for $50. I was told that the rechargeable batteries in these last forever as they have very little stress throughout the years.

Sen your repair inquiry to: scottcjohnson@gmail.com
I don't think it is the battery in the key though simply because both masters stopped working to lock/unlock the car the same exact time.

You need to replace the battery. Overtime they won't recharge.

Replacing the battery didn't do anything in my case, see this thread: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...php?p=24980343

Has anyone figured out the issue on this.

I have ‘2006 BMW 325xi - No Comfort Access
Remote will not open Doors or Trunk
Metal key opens/ locks all doors as should when put in the drivers door
FOB Starts the car as usual
Replaced with new rechargeable battery
Still Won’t unlock Doors/ Trunk remotely

Worked when I got out of the car, stopped working when I came back

Any help?

I assume you do NOT have the 2nd Remote Key that originally came with the vehicle? Do you have ANY Scan Tool or Software that can read Fault Codes in the CAS Module?

Here is the TIS circuit diagram for the Remote Control Aerial (Aerial Diversity, A421) that receives any radio signal from your remote key. That aerial is located just above the rear glass on either E90 or E91. On the E91 the aerial is actually mounted on the tail gate/hatch, so the wiring between the tail gate & chassis can break inside the sheath at door hinge plane.
https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...te-key/fzglaEg

If the Central Locking Button on dash locks/unlocks as it should, then either the Remote Key is NOT sending radio signal to the Aerial Diversity, OR the Aerial Diversity is NOT receiving that radio signal and sending unlock signal by wire to CAS. If you don't have a 2nd Remote Key, we can't determine which. The Dealer probably has a device to test radio emission from Remote Key.

For purposes of tests YOU can do, I would test power supply to the Aerial Diversity from F2 via the Red/Violet wire at Pin #4 of Connector X1143 at the Aerial. Here are E90 "Installation Location" and "Connector View":
https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...lim/1VnXdFLi3i
https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...i-lim/CTHLrjRZ

Also check Connector X1143 for corrosion & clean. While there, inspect Module for any sign of water ingress or damage/corrosion.

Please let us know what you find,
George

This is all very good information. Very helpful.

Was any resolution to this matter discovered.

I'm currently having the same issue.

2009 328I sedan non Comfort access with both key fobs not functioning anything remotely.

Both Fob batteries meter at 3.0V
I purchased an RF scanner and confirmed only one key fob is transmitting at 315Mhz. the other is not transmitting at all.

Diversity antenna contacts are all perfectly dry no corrosion. And its getting power.

All fuses in fuse box are good.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you

Im experiencing similar issues.
Was anything discovered on this?

My car is an 2009 E90
Neither of my two keys(Non CA) work.
I've checked all fuses, their good.
I've ran a 3rd party load test on Interstate car battery. Its good.
I've purchased an RF signal checker to confirm fobs are transmitting. The spare actually transmits good. However the other key was not transmitting, so I cut open, changed battery confirmed proper solder and 3V. Still neither fobs work.
I've checked Diversity antenna to confirm its getting power and is grounded, It is.

Dash central lock button and mechanical cylinder lock function all door and trunk actuators great.

I'm really at a loss and could use some assist.

Thank you

Mine had the same issue. Had to send out my CAS and working key to get two new keys cut and programmed. I only had one key that wasn't working. Price wasn't bad at all. PM if you need the contact info.

Hi there, any update on this issue? I have two dead no CA fobs, one is having ok battery for sure (3,1V and you can notice drop to 2,8v when pushing buttons - assuming that it does transmit).
The issue started after 12v battery went dead, fob sometimes unlocked the car but was unable to lock it. After a while it stopped all together.

You ever figure this out? Both of my no -CA keys don’t do any remote unlock/lock/trunk open functions. They only start the car. Issue also started when car battery died for me.
Don’t think it’s diversity antenna because my radio sounds fine… and because BOTH keys stopped working at the same time. Would really love to NOT have to order new keys from BMW.
