Flat tire monitor (FTM) warning stuck on after new tires

My primary question: what do you all do on track cars or summer/winter even that often switch tire size and especially pressure. Apologies if this is the wrong forum but the coding forum is entirely oriented to deleting tpms and enabling FTM. I've found keeping FTM a bad idea. The last thing I want on track is a persistent red light/gong that won't go away.

My question is directed primarily to those who've already removed TPMS. It seems like this would've been the first step for a track setup anyway. It's my understanding that deleting TPMS causes a default back to FTM.

So I deleted TPMS just fine. Pulled the circuit breakers and used ProTool to remove the VO code, etc. Anyway, when I recently bought new tires, maybe 30-50 miles after I got a solid, extremely persistent red tire on my (07/e92) single hump dash. In the stalk scroll options there was no tire option at all--referred to by many other threads. Only after I completely re-enabled TPMS/RDC by reinserting the two fuses and adding $2vb(?) back into the VO then the tire reset option showed back up in the stalk scroll. I did a few resets (not great confirmation it does anything). Eventually the FTM red error was gone and I re-removed TPMS (because I have no sensors in the wheels).

Anyway, this is dumb. Is there a way to get rid of FTM? It's totally counterintuitive but it seemed like the TPMS (RDC) module is required to reset FTM alerts. Do I need to keep my RDC installed for the next time I swap tires or buy new? Clearly/hopefully I'm missing something.

Odd. I deleted TPMS and enabled FTM for a few years now, and never had issues on track or on street (switching wheels inbetween). Never had any lights come on except for the one time that I truly did have a nail in tire during street driving.

I feel like when I went to FTM though, I didnt pull any fuses, I believe I just unplugged the RDC module. But I also have an LCI E90.

Thanks for the data point. Maybe the two fuses pulled impact more than just RDC. When I olugged them back in, reenabled TPMS (long enough for it to get mad at me) then re-did my TPMS delete and a few reset attempts, the FTM warning was gone and so far hasn't come back (maybe only 20 miles covered though).

I don't think it's quite that simple, though there is some conflicting info out there.

Did you add $265 to the VO for FTM?

I swapped TPMS for FTM, and I've had 0 issues. I swap wheels all the time.

I unplugged the module, removed $2VB from VO, added $265, default coded KOMBI and DSC. I don't have iDrive but add CIC to the list of modules to default code if you do. No need to mess with any fuses.
