Catted catless DP - exhaust flap MHD

Hi all, I'm tempted to get a catless DP to my 2011 335i RWD so no secondary cats, I wonder if it's cost effective to get a local exhaust shop to fit 'aftermarket' secondary cats or maybe I can source a chopped up E92 N54 mid section with the cats as it would need to pass emissions annually.

I've been looking at sports cats, catted DP but it seems they aren't guaranteed to pass emissions, and are quite expensive (only wagner £800 or Masata £400 is available here).

I know I'd like the sound of the catless, the only concern is cold start loudness and neighbours, and any strong smell. I believe the sound once warmed up will be just what I'm looking for. I currently run with the muffler flap permanently open, but good to know I could revert back to closed if getting catless.

Do you know, if I was to purchase MHD or BM3 if possible to independently configure/ switch off cold start without flashing a new tune?

The previous owner did a 'safe' custom stage 1 tune at a tuning shop and I'm very happy with the performance.
