Interesting, thanks for the info on the e60. I'll look for e71 stalks

Do you know if e70 is the same as e71? The SZL looks the same but has a different part number. Might have electrical differences like e60

can anyone in europe send their trace files for acc and ldm? Im in the USA and my custom coding for following distance, and initial follow distance does not want to reflect after coding. For some reason the acc sensor doesnt respect any coding changes i make.

thanks!

Edit: That was it! ACC works on a 03/2006 preLCI E87 130i. Only LCM, SZL(335i), KOMBI(E90 High) and ACC(335i) are added/swapped. I guess clutch doesn't immediately disengage the set speed which I loved in my Audi as well.
So wait, all you did was move your CAN connection lines?

Isn't the stalk interchangeable if you remove it from the SZL? I thought earlier posts talk about people successfully swapping ACC stalks from e90 SZLs onto e91 SZLs

I didn't tried personally. You can try, if this will not help and you will not damage flex cable, then you can install e70 szl without issues as a backup option

Correct. There must be something I missed about the bus. I wanted to do clean a clean setup and used to empty pins on the JBE, which did not work even after placing the terminator resistor on the new lines.
So I connected to the original working network and the LDM worked straight away.

Ok, interesting... I've been using the working network the entire time during the retrofit.

After reading this, it makes me want to try tapping it at the Junction Box and not at the FRM with the ACC module.

Good work! Did you cut your original grille to fit the sensor? I don't see the ACC-specific grille.

That cluster looks good, which model did you get? How does it work for alerts that would normally show as an icon on the cluster and a warning message on iDrive?

Well I finally took another crack at it this morning. Just redid everything step by step. Not sure what I might have missed in the past. It works now! So excited.

Edit: didn't even need to recalibrate. Works like a charm

Good to hear that!

I solved my LDM problem last night, it seems like you can't have too many PT-CAN connections in parallel tapped from the same source. I assume this is due to some sort of termination issue (although I assume it'd bring down the entire bus, but I haven't worked with CAN before so I guess I don't understand the topology of the bus since I've never messed with it. I've primarily had experience with RS-485 and RS-232 buses at work).

I tapped PT-CAN straight from the junction box instead of the FRM and the LDM shows up in INPA now. I'm annoyed that I spent all the time and money trying different LDMs, junction boxes etc. only for this to fix it. But at least it works, I'm really looking forward to putting the bumper back on and testing it out!

Hello, i’m new here.

I couldn’t find any topic more specifically about ACC on E90 than this one.

I changed my sensor on my 2007 E91 335d (pre facelift) and now i’m trying to change the grill because the old grill had some damage.

I definitely bought the correct parts.

But the small grill that’s around the sensor doesnt really fit on the main grill.
I bought the main grill with the hole on the left side and the small grill around the sensor.

It is on it’s place but it’s not correctly fitting.

Part numbers are, 51 11 7 907 076 and 51 11 7 907 077

Folks do we know if it is better to swap the cruise control stalk or the wiper stalk? Does it matter?

I have my factory E91 clock spring setup and the ACC E90 clock spring setup sitting on my desk. I have already take apart the E90 setup and either route is the same the best I can tell.

It won't matter. I used the whole ACC clock spring, wiper stalk, and BC stock it came with because it had less wear than my originals. From a UK to a US car. No issues, plug and play

Well boys, I have fallen down the rabbit hole on this one.

So I bought two 7er F01 sensors almost a year ago. Digging into the nuanced differences between the sensors, I came to conclusion that it will not work because it is too "new" for our factory system.

That made we wonder, how many different part variations there are for these and through what different makes.

Randomly I came across a sensor that looked like ours, but was under the brand name Bendix. Turns out Bendix is owned by Bosch and sold a standalone adaptive cruise control system using a ACC 2 sensor (just like our E9X) for commercial trucks. Judging by the pinout in the install manual, it still communicated via the same CAN wires as our chassis. There is even an upgrade path that uses the newer flat style sensor and documentation for flashing firmware on the existing sensor.

I gave up and ordered an E90 sensor from Europe, but maybe someone may find this information interesting enough to explore it some more.
