Busta Rib's E91 Build
I am a long-time Bimmerphile, having owned 12 Bimmers, including E30s, E36 M3s, E39 Touring, and a couple E91s, including this Alpine over Cinnamon* Touring.
I bought this car in November 2024. It had about 124K miles at the time and came from Chicago so there is some surface rust on the undercarriage but nothing too serious. The big appeal for me, besides being a wagon was:
This is how she looked before I purchased: Since taking ownership, I discovered that the original interior was ivory white and a previous owner dyed the interior to Cinnamon. With exception to the driver-side seat that had some blue stains from the driver wearing jeans, overall, it was a decent dye job. I recently had the front seats re-dyed by a professional interior shop using Leatherique and it turned out great. The dye will need to be touched up every 2-3 years, which is not ideal, but in general, I dig the color! The car was leaking a lot of oil so I decided it was worth it to get everything squared away. I went down the rabbit hole, pot-committed to getting the car into sound mechanical shape, and did the following work myself:
I had a local shop do the heavy lifting on:
Needless to say, the car is in top shape now and drives like a dream. It would have been ideal to do an engine swap and drop in a V-8 but the complication, time, and cost ultimately dissuaded me. Maybe down the road. This is a sweet car and I'm looking forward to enjoying it for awhile. No plans for any other mods at the moment other than some wheel studs. I will wait until I install my winter wheels/tires to do that. My local tech is trying to convince me to install some stiffer sway bars. It gets a little lean on tight corners but this is not intended to be a sports car so I am good with that. Just last night I was washing the wagon and one of my neighbors walked by and asked if I would sell it. I told him it wasn't for sale, but I'm amused there are apparently many other wagon lovers out there! Last edited by Busta Rib; 09-02-2025 at 10:04 PM.. |

Looks great! You did many of the right things for it, shouldn't have a worry at hopping in and driving anywhere. That front bumper is I think the best looking one on this chassis, M sport 2nd in line. Very nice!

spring is here.
rare wagon. You might find the right buyer ! Any bets ? Ill say 20k$ Still wondering how much I could get from mine, where I live not much, but in US pretty sure I can make few easy bucks. For you front seat use Scratch Doctor all in one dye. It does miracle. I used it for my oyster and coral red interior. Easy to use, cheap, it last and dont stain the clothe. |

Thanks. I had the front seats professionally re-dyed after the photoshoot. There are updated pics in the gallery. It looks almost like new now. It'll be interesting and exciting to see where this lands.
