Going To The Dark Side!!!
Due to the many headaches my 335i has given me, when my lease is up in feb. I will be getting a way more reliable vehicle the Lexus IS-F.... Thoughts?

Never understood these "My BMW sucked, so I'm buying X, since they're so much better" threads. Good luck on the new car - hopefully it's without faults, but keep in mind that high-performance vehicles in general are temperamental.

Audi S5's are slow and overpriced, coming from a JB3 335i I want something that can atleast keep up with my previous car.

Nothing beats the reliability of a Japanese car and im tired of having my car in the dealer for one problem after another.

Ehh, not the biggest fan of the ISF. Here's why:
1. Confused about this direct-shift. Is it a gussied-up automatic or a real semi-auto? 2. Not exactly drop-dead styling. 3. Is this really a better car than either the M3 or the C63? It is, after all, more expensive than either one. |

Unless I can get one at MSRP it is out of the question because of the ridiculous dealer mark-ups

S5 is beautiful but slow, heavy, and Audi reliaibilty is even worse than BMW and their resale value is junk. since you are leasing, i would take a M3. it's all covered under warranty so no worries there. have fun with the new ride |

It's a nice car, I'm not a huge fan of them but I don't think I'd mind leasing one if it was a good deal.

Oh and btw this time around im buying not leasing that's why reliability is such a big factor for me at this point.I would love a GTR but the dealer mark-ups are ridiculous and you cant even get a used one for under 70K while you can get a is-f used for 48k with 5k miles

I liked it when I drove one. If you get past the name (some people can't) it's a solid car.
And I didn't see anything "Toyota" about it. |

C'mon over, you're welcome!! FYI, IS-F are being had as low as 51K (fully loaded, new, not demo) these days due to the economy. Not bad for a 416HP, 6 DVD changing Mark Levinson surround sound, NAV, bluetooth, keyless, etc. etc. etc. I've had mine since March w/o a single hiccup, CEL, squeak, rattle.

BTW, there is an ECU tune and a TCU tune available! FINALLY, a power mod for Lexus. From what I know (pretty educated guesses), it's going to remove the limiter (the limiter is already high at 170 anyways), shift harder (shifts plenty hard for me already), revs a few hundred RPM higher, leans out the A/F ratio (pig rich at 11:1) among other things. So, I guess it'll give us another 1/2 second or more at the 1/4.
