I would imagine that the shortcut buttons could be a requisite for the buttons on the controller to work. I have 1/07 production car which means no buttons.
If it will work on someone else's car without the programmable idrive buttons, then I would strongly consider it. |

So for a pre-programmable-button IDrive CCC (ie 06/07 car) this LCI controller doesn't work However, if I were to change my old CCC for the 08 version with the programmable buttons, it will work...! I would imagine it's quite easy to change, just that the car needs recoding...??

I agree, but at the moment it isn't a viable option. I have the opportunity to get hold of a 'new' CCC with the programmable buttons for next to no money... might just get it anyway just in case!

this setup is forsale if anyone is interested. since this was made the the previous idrive, i doubt he can use it. So its up forsale now.
