I am out 2 wheels courtesy of the road that I pay $0.85 in tolls every day to drive on (I-90). Hopefully they will give me some $ back for the damage, we'll see.

City of Chicago will pay 50% of your bill automatically but I've never heard of anyone getting anything from the state. Paragon insurance has been a godsend to me. $9/mo. cancel anytime and they pay up to $350 per rim, OEM or aftermarket.

There is a link on potholes that is prominently displayed on the Illinois Tollway home page: http://www.illinoistollway.com/porta..._schema=PORTAL

FUCK THAT. I'm going to raise my insurance rates because they can't keep up with filling these things? C'mon, some of them are so big I could lay down in them and not get hit by oncoming traffic. |

So I agreed with this thread until this past weekend...honestly
Ive lived in chicago my entire life, Ive never seen our roads in such disrepair in so many places. But, there is a but I was in NY/NJ this weekend, and I have to say, if I lived there I would cry, daily, nightly, and every moment I spent 5 minutes on the road. Their roads are so categorically bad, everywhere, that I dont think you can drive anywhere without smashing potholes. I'm sure you have all noticed that this season people are finally getting good about slowing down and weaving around potholes instead of being d-bags and tailing, everyone seems to finally get it. In NY/NJ, they dont even bother anymore, weaving wont help you, the potholes and the broken roads are literally, every road. I thank my lucky stars I live in chicago after that trip **for any ny/nj owners running around with rims on an E90/92/93 that are bigger than 17's, I salute you

I will admit that the roads here are bad, but not the worst. I just came from Boston, living there for 5 years.
Massachusetts has the worst roads, for multiple reasons. I chewed through two RFTs last year from potholes. They do not repair as diligently, and use sand, not salt. Additionally, you add to the fact that they only occasionally use street signs, if at all, and the roads never travel in a straight line for more than a block. The icing on the cake is that every driver is a complete moron out there. It could be intentional, but I could never decide if is was accidental. Where I lived downtown Boston, you have to keep to the right when you drive down a one-way street - to avoid on-coming traffic. |

Definitely wait. I did last year. I did not switch off the 19s this year thinking I'd just drive my 335 sparingly. Dumb decision.
