fellow drivers beware of theft and fake money

Guys,
Yesterday I had a strange experience in a parking lot in Fresh Meadows. It was 11 at night and I was parked with the engine on, and talking to a friend inside the car when a beat up red Toyota tercel 95 or so parked next to me and stared for a few seconds and asked me to roll down the window. Now, keep in mind that I have 25% tints. As a security precaution I only lowered the top 1/3 of the window so they (2 white males on their 20's) wouldn't see anything else inside the car.
The passenger procceds to ask me where I am from, to which I say Delaware. After that he asks what I am doing, to which I reply, its not your business, only mine!
Anyways, to make the story short, he offered to buy the car right there, cash. I replied, I am not selling, and then they just left (not without trying to get me to "sell" by insisting on it. I just requested my friend to buckle up and de activated DTC and just left before anything happened.

Today in the morning I spoke to my NYPD uncle and he said it obviously was either theft or fake money.

So, guys, be careful. Those dudes could have pulled up a gun on me or if I was stupid enough, to get me out of the car and hijack it then.

For those that plan to sell their cars, don't accept cash so easily. My uncle told me these is a lot of fake money circulating in NY right now...

Where in fresh? Movies? Applebees? I'm around that area.. a bit..

I had some random dude come out of his light once at a red light, I rolled the window down about... a crack and said.. Whats up? I just agreed with him and when it turned green left him in the dust..... agree to agree.. and pull away, safe than sorry, guys.

Parking lot near the starbucks that is in the corner of 180 something street, same place where applebees is, but the other side... Behind the movies?
The closest business is starbucks...

Ok, yea I think all those businesses share one big parking lot same with that big store, forgot it's name, kohls or something maybe? Starbucks, Boston Chicken... I try to stay away from there with movies also, I use to like that theater, but I rarely go there for shows........ which completely sucks..... Because you never know whats waiting for you in the wee hours of the night. It's not lite too well over there?

This is right off the LIE, right? I go there with my gf all the time. Never had that experience though. Then again, best be safe and stay away. :P

Yeah gameover, same place as you mention, but I never have seen anything bad until now. Most ppl there are Korean, but I guess its more dangerous of what it looks like.
The lesson is that safe is a circumstancial position... Specially at night...

I think the same would happen anywhere else. After all their shady business is a game of opportunity, and we better don't give any.
That's why I wanted to share this with you all.

i know a couple of cars that got stolen and/or broken into including my brother's pickup truck. i will never park my car there to watch a movie. the most i'll do is park near boston market and watch from the window while i eat.

lol how do u even sell a car like that on the spot? you dont sign any papers and they give you the moeny and they drive off?!?!

Easy said than done here in NYC. Its very difficult to own a handgun here, which you need 2 permits, carry & use, unless you're a businessman that carries loads of cash...
