why is someones review crazy talk now? Ive noticed this too, same tune two different cars, one runs different from the other. That why once size fits all maps will NEVER work exactly the same on different cars. Hell you got hotrod trapping 121 with no bolt ons and then you jb3 i/dp/e/ic/vp109 guys trapping 114....same race maps right?

I know I know, my car has just never felt better with the latest incarnation of the map so to me that is crazy talk.
But this is why the upcoming autotuning will be an awesome feature. |

holy shit this is the fastest thing I've ever driven
just got back from a short test drive with the latest 5/29 Stage 3 AT map........
what else can I add? Oh, yes, "placebo effect" my ass! 2/19 Stage 3 non doomsday AT was almost sexual pleasure, this map is definitely sexual pleasure once adaptation will be completed and I'll have tested the car intensively I'll add something to this review, in the meantime I guess I can just say "let's hear it for the Shivmeister"

+1. Am I to understand that although these are non-doomsday maps, they're technically for the Canbus Rev II, but can be used with Rev I if the user doesn't mind that "hidden tuner codes" could be detected? So, does that mean than "hidden tuning codes" could be detected even if your s/w has never been updated (pre v29.1 or whatever the s/w update was that introduced "tuning detection")? Sorry if I'm a bit confused; just want to get this straight.

I mean, does it even matter about "non-doomsday" anymore since you can clear the codes? Or is that what slfgator is saying that there are some hidden codes we can't see (aka canbus and/or BT scanner)? FASTA data or whatever perhaps?

So, "tuner codes" can be detected with these new beta maps, even if your car was never updated to the 'newer' s/w that detects tuning? I thought that's why Shiv has "doomsday" maps for newer, updated s/w (or new cars with the new s/w) and "non-doomsday" maps (both Rev I and Rev II) for non-updated cars with older s/w.

anyone know if you can run older maps (2-19) with the latest firmware or does it have to be changed as well. I tried to go back to the proper firmware but the car wont reboot and for some reason causes the software to get very confused. Im just curious to feel 2-19 maps again to compare.

Is it just me.....or do these 5-29th maps feel like a different tune?
Instead of hunting for the boost target, it seems to get on it right away and holds tight....unlike before where the boost curve had some wobbles up and down. The boost also seems to correlate directly to throttle position more directly. If you floored it, previous maps kind of rose to the peak boost target......but now if I go from 1/2 throttle to 3/4 throttle my boost gauge shows an instantaneous change to a higher psi. Reason I ask is because I have been chasing down a supposed small boost leak, but after checking all the intake and intercooler connections and re-routing some of the wastegate vacuum lines, I can't tell if jiggling things maybe got rid of the supposed problem, or if these new maps just get onto target and are more boost stable? Either way I am a happy man.....car is very fast and I don't seem to be able to invoke any surges or hesitations.....which I thought were symptoms of a small boost leak I had over the last several weeks. Would appreciate your opinions. |

I'm not that worried about the tuner codes with Rev I since I have the BT scanner - just wondering if anyone with Rev I tried the maps and felt a similar improvement in performance as you Rev II guys did. Maybe a stupid question, but I'm not sure how much (if any) of this new special sauce relies on the updated hardware.

These new maps seem to be making my surging problems go away but with my car on any of the canbus maps there is one thing that is always putting my car into limp mode. Its in 2nd or 3rd gear at about 2500 rpm's right as boost gets started, right when I start hearing the intakes start hissing, it goes into limp mode. This all happens in a matter of seconds after I use throttle at low rpm. Just as the boost starts rising. Im so sick of having problems with my tune Im thinking of going stock. it drives perfectly when the tunes not in. I would be happy right now with these maps if not for the limp problem. The fuel pump plausibility comes up. Anyone know what I can do to stop this. stage 1 at default. 6/at

fotios, have you tried running lower than default user tq? perhaps the combo of temps/gas quality in your area is making the car unhappy w/the boost targets on stage 1 with just dci?

yeah, Ive tried 65% and pretty much the same issues, just less power. I always use shell 93 too. Like I said this map is running good but there is just something that getting set off. I just wonder if there is anything else I can raise or lower to stop the car from going into a limp mode under the circumstance I said previously. Also the temps are ranging from 50-75 right now so thats not very high.
