New JB3 beta software!
Hey Guys
I am happy to announce that BMS is yet again working at the new JB3 software The new version will be 1.4 I believe and we have entered the beta stages once again. I know a lot of you have bought a chip burner from me so you are more then welcome to download the latest map sets and let me know what you think. The more input the better as we are always striving to make the JB3 better and reflect what you guys, the end users really want Here are the new features/changes from 1.3 1) Rewrote lagfix algorithms for stronger and smoother low end performance. 2) Made adjustments to eliminate the off-throttle wastegate rattle a few users reported when using lagfix maps. NOTE: These users reported no or much less rattle on non-lagfix maps. So if you rattle with the JB3 off or on non-lagfix maps, the suggested fix is still a trip to the dealer. 3) Adjusted boost targeting for smoother performance and reduced overshoot/oscillation below 4000rpm. Also increased high rpm targeting taper for reduced throttle closure at the shift points. 4) Reduced boost slightly @ 5500rpm, and increased boost slightly @ 6800rpm, on all maps, to level out the high end power band a bit. May result in a few less dyno glory HP per map but should make for an overall faster car. 5) Increased IAT boost decay slightly on maps 1-7. Also bad for dyno glory but better for on road performance. 6) Adjusted lower rpm PID tuning to reduce "wind up" in artificial conditions like starting dynojet runs @ 800rpm. 7) Setup internal PID algorithms for future dynamic barometric pressure calculations. Currently, baro is sampled when starting the motor. When driving up and down mountains this can result in under/over targeting as elevation changes until you restart. The new algorithm will sample baro with the motor running and we plan to include it in the next update. 8) By popular demand added a little more boost to map 1, to make it a better alternative for those on super low quality/questionable fuels. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or improvements. Here is the download (I have zipped it so please unzip) Last edited by Mike@N54Tuning.com; 07-09-2009 at 12:50 AM.. |

thanks for the update mike! this looks like an incredible upgrade, glad to see terry never stops!
highlights for me personally: 2) Made adjustments to eliminate the off-throttle wastegate rattle a few users reported when using lagfix maps. I had a hand in #7 This is why I think Terry is the best. He constantly improves on what he does, listen's to the customers wishes and makes sure its all safe and enjoyable at the same time while making our cars into the true ultimate driving machine

You can always order updated chips for 20 bucks if you dont want to buy the burner. Just get the 1.3 version.

So, got about 75 miles or so now on the new stuff. The wastegate rattling is greatly reduced! Yes, it's still there but even on stock it's there. Im pre 29.2 and tested maps 1 through 7. I think it's muuuch more bearable (the rattle) and all I can ask for, considering how bad it was before. The car is sooo much nicer in traffic and low speeds though. All this new immediate pull and torque down low! No violent lurching tip-in and overall a bit smoother throughout the rev range as well! One thing I've noticed is how much better the car is when I go off throttle...no harsh tranny dump or lumpiness...I'm sure there are little things I'll catch to tell Terry as I put more mileage on it. But so far !!

I have several but I've burned over a few of them over 10 times. Keep at it!
