Am I the only big guy to not be comfortable in my sport seats?
I'm not obese or anything -- 6'3" 237 lbs, but I swear I cannot love my seats. The side bolsters hit my kidneys and the overall curve of the seat causes my shoulders to roll forward so much I am carrying a little pillow around in my car.
I will admit: I do have a sensitive back, BUT my e46 sport seats were perfect. & I did not get lumbar, BUT I don't think that'd solve my problem (I tried them on another e90 on the lot). Next week I am taking it to an automotive upholstery shop to see what they can do for me. I am bummed.

I'm 6'1" and 260 lbs. I have the non sport package and the seats are not flat enough for me. I also have a hard time getting out due to my seat position all the way to the rear and the side pillar located to far forward. It sometimes feel like I'm climbing out of the rear seat of a two door coupe.

Yoiks, brothers, I feel for you. This is why I DUMPED my Subaru Legacy after 3 months. I didn't get the sport seats on my XI (yet to be delivered), cause I heard they weren't great for long cruises, which I do every day.
My sympathies...please hurry to the nearest upholsterer, and fix it and come back with glowing stories...no need to be suffering in a luxury sedan. Not joking here, but our X5 is awesome for me, 6'1" 195, and would be great for bigger dudes...the seating position puts your legs further down and the steering wheel tilts and 'scopes electrically.

6'0" 240lbs here and that is the sole reson I didn't get the sports package.
I wish the would have felt more comfortable becuase I would have LOVED to get the sports package. It crushed my ribs, to me it felt like I was sitting in a vice not a seat. Jesse |

Wow -- much more response than I got last time I posted on the subject.
Here's what I am thinking of: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4549 I think I am gonna get the works -- two airbags. I have noticed that when put a small pillow behind my back not only does it help my back, it pushes me forward in the seat a bit and the side bolsters pinch much less. Worse case scenario... my wife loves the car and the seats! What's the lease on a IS350? nly half-joking emoticon goes here:

6'0 175lbs describes my brother. He is comfortable in his E46 with sports package but he is a dam rail though. I can actually see his ribs without him breathing in.

Hate to state the obvious, but did you adjust the width of the side bolsters with switch on the seat? Also, the position of the lumbar support is adjustable.
While I am 5-10 and weigh about 150lbs, the seats fit like a glove after I adjusted these controls |

You´re too tall and to heavy for the E90 sports seats. Trade with someone for the non sports seats.
The E46 sports seats were wider i.e. less sporty. I´m 5foot 11inches and 160 pounds. For me the E90 sports seats are plain perfect. Much better than the E46 sports seats (which I ould slide around in) Stop eating them damn burgers !

I'm from Spain and I have the normal seats without lumbar adjust. I don’t have any problems in my back.
Until today I’m thinking that I’m the unique person who has that problem but I wasn't. I try to change the seats but BMW says me that i´m the unique person who tell that, solution I go to bmw trying to change the problem. The problem is one wire or metal, you can see the picture in this link, in one Spanish forum page: http://www.bmwfaq.com/showthread.php?t=72370 after go to BMW they take me off that wire, you can see in the next picture: http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/9...nttulo20to.jpg But now I have another problem. The seat now is comfortable in the part who don’t have that wire, nut now my back hurts in another place because the configuration of the seat is changed, and this sensation it’s very bad. You can see the part of the seat who hurt my back, next photo: http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/2...nttulo37hd.jpg Greatings from spain |

For me, the E90 sports seats are a big improvement over the E46 sports seats. But I was wondering if for those for whom the E90 seats are a bad fit and the E46 seats better, it would be a viable alternative to buy a new E46 seat from a dealer, or a used one from a wrecker, and install it on an E90. E46 seats must be available somewhere, somehow; I imagine collision repair outfits would need them from time to time. If the tracks are the same, installing E46 manual seats in an E90 would probably not be a problem but I suppose there could be compatibility issues with things like controls if the seats are electrically powered.

I'm 6'8", 230 lbs and find the seats very comfortable.
Have driven 9 hours straight with only a stop for gas and no problems. Leg room and reach to steering wheel is just about perfect. Very pleased.

6' 215 pounds. I haven't taken delivery yet, so don't know about long trips, but I took my time adjusting the seat, especially the bolsters, on test drives, and found the seats to be very comfortable. Fit like a glove. But the first time I drove, I didn't know about the adjustable bolsters and they definitely pinched like hell. If I hadn't found out about them adjusting, I was not going to get the car.

I’m 6’4” 255 and love the sport seats. Of course I have to have the side bolsters completely deflated. My wife on the other hand is 5’8” and about 120 and loves the seats but pumps the side bolsters all the way up. Occasionally, I’ll get in the car after she has been driving and the side bolsters really cut into my ribs until I deflate them. I can see how someone wouldn’t like the seats if that is the way it feels to them even with the bolsters deflated.
