I thought long and hard about why this question is being asked... the only thing I can think of is he has CA and he wants to know if it works w/o the driver being in the car completely???

Just a guess..otherwise... WTF!?!

When the gas gauge indicates 1/2 tank....
does it mean its 1/2 full...or 1/2 empty....

Not to get too technical, but he'd have to have his foot on the brake, or clutch to start the engine. Might make a good UTube video...

if you don't press the clutch in a manual, car will not start, I believe in an Auto, the brake pedal should be pressed - but I could be wrong. Start has nothing to do with door open/close.
