Alarm Activation in Vancouver
Has anyone used a Vancouver dealer to activate a self-installed alarm?
I just installed my alarm from Ebay (Hunterdon BMW). Unfortunately, without activation only the clown nose blinks. My dealer, BMW Store, wants to charge a minimum of 1 hr for activation. The dealer claimed that it takes 15 minutes just to connect the car to the computer (really?)... Can anyone recommend a SA at a Vancouver dealership who will do it in 1/2 an hour as our US members have been able to do?

dealer activated alarm
some people on the forum have either recommended or had the alarm activated by going in for routine maintenance and or a CIP/Progman update; which in theory should reset the onboard computer and 'activate' your alarm. this is what i remember;... but it's been a while.
let me know if you get this to work, as it's something i've thought about doing myself. best of luck! Quote:
