but the tires of the SUV (Pilot) in back of my car sucked!
I got rear-ended! My pristine bumper is now smashed up. The guy gave me some lip about me stopping suddenly which was total BS since I was going less than 5MPH but he should have known better. Honda Pilots and Acura MDXs suck in braking. I had an MDX so I know. At least my kids, friend and I are all right. |

glad you and the passengers are ok. I have the same dunlops you have and they are terrific. My other car happens to be a pilot and my wife said she slid around anytime it rained/snowed. Finally trashed the goodyear integrity's for some michelins. The difference is night/day.

BULL SH1T. If you are ever hit from behind, it doesn't matter how suddenly you stop, that's your prerogative, it is ALWAYS the following driver's fault for following too closely.
I can't believe the crap I see on the roads - even here in tiny little VT, people following less than one car-length behind while going 10-15 mph over the limit... as if it was Nascar. I'm so appalled by the stupidity that I find myself often chilling in the right lane of the highway when I'm only going a few miles to just avoid the stupidity.

That's real good of him to blame the victim. Reminds me of a wife beater that says "see what you made me do, bitch, you made me hit you". If he hit you, it's HIS fault period. I am glad you and your friends are okay. I have the Dunlop 3D's too on my xi and it was great today, 1000x better than my old 633csi was with the same tires. 3D + XI = True tundra pig!

Glad everyone is ok! This is why I don't like going out in the snow, though. Stupid other drivers. This guy is the perfect example.

My FWD Nissan did just fine in 23", new RE960 a/s--all season! lol
The 335 sat in the garage. Snows or no snows, that's a lot of snow for a low car..... Do I wish I had AWD with 23"? Of course. But it wasn't absolutely necessary.... |

Just ran a quick trip to the Shell station to get gassed up. A Sebring was stuck on a bank of snow just before the gas station entrance, guess who's pulled him off the bank... Go Dunlops!

Probably a tire issue. We owned a 2004 MDX and now have a 2006 Pilot and they are one of the best 4x4 systems I've ever driven in the snow. Like somebody already said, if you are rear-ended its always the fault of the person who hit you.

Forgot to chime in on the tires, which is why I originally started to respond...
Ironically, while the rest of the East Coast is buried in snow, we got NONE in Northern Vermont. I too just got Dunlop Wintersport 3Ds on (now carrying the Tischer compact spare in my trunk) and haven't had a chance to test them in snow yet. I had them on my last FWD car and they were great - took it from scary with the all-seasons to about as confident as you could get with FWD. I haven't pushed them on dry roads yet either since it's been hella cold all week, but they ride soooo much nicer than the RFT hockey pucks. They make a 3D RFT and it was maybe $40/each more expensive than the conventional version on tirerack.com, OP or anyone else, are you running 3D RFTs?

If there's any time I want to get out and change a tire LESS than on the side of the road, in a blizzard, in sub-freezing temperatures, around cars and SUVs sliding around everywhere.....I don't know it.
