Great!!! You are the one who will go over the entire car with me??? Get my phone all set up, teach me everything I need to know about iDrive?

How many others will get their car that day? (if the day is booked...)

That's great that you got your PCD date. I'm still waiting for my car to get on a boat. At what point did you get confirm from PCD for your date?

I was about this close (thumb and forefinger held about 1/8" apart) from doing PCD this time. In the end, we decided that the scheduling would be tricky this time of year and we'd just been to Asheville in the fall. Also, my CA said something about plant tours not being done and I didn't want a "partial" experience.

I still would like to do it someday. I expect you guys to treat us to a nice write up and lots of photos of your experience. That means you Steve!

I was very lucky. My salesman (or whatever they want / should be called) told me that they do not do many PCDs, so getting a date should be easy. And apparently it was. However, the thing that I believe REALLY worked in my favor was that I wanted to do the PCD and the car was delivered in SC the 2nd week in Feb; however, due to work constraints, I can not get down there to 3/28. So, the car has been sitting there, waiting for me to come down and get her. So since the car was delivered, and my available date was so far out, my sales guy was able to book the date as soon as that date was available for booking.

Good thing = I got the first date I could go down.
Bad thing = The car will have been sitting there all lonely for 5+ weeks, while my excitement is through the roof!!!

Most people want to do the PCD asap after the car arrives. So, those dates fill up fast.

Don't worry about your car sitting lonely for 5 weeks - they are using it on the performance track for other owners to play with.

Yea, I got something in the mail stating that the plant was closed "until further notice" a couple of weeks ago. I am hoping with all I can hope with that it will be open when I do get down there. But if not, oh well. I still think it will be much better then going to my local dealership and getting the car there. I still wanted the PCD, to drive the course..etc so I am headed down. I think one of the great things is that I will be able to see how far I can push the car in a controlled enviroment, without doing it in my car on local streets.

Yes Steve. I would like you to qualify those arbitrary and opinionated comments with some form of imperical data.

Great - what is the scale here? How do I know that you don't enjoy picking lint out of your belly button?

Awesome - please explain how awesome differs from great. This implies that the experience instilled upon you a sense of awe. I recall feeling that way when standing at the edge of the Grand Canyon, and of course every time I catch a glimpse of my own reflection.

Some objective data would also be required. Photographic evidence is acceptable.

I didn't yet. I'm sure that will be my report though, same as all the others that have done PCD.
With the plant being closed, maybe they moved the Munich webcam to Spartanburg and that's why there aren't any cars in the paint shop.

Well, if I can plant just a shred of doubt and make you pace the floor or start sniffing glue, then my work here is done.

You got it!

Btw... Don't worry about your car, we will reset the miles and put new shoes on it before you take delivery. (just kidding)

We have a total of 8 deliveries that day. That is the most we can handle if everyone on our staff is here.

Factory tours are on a week by week basis currently, but we have had them for most of this year and that should continue until around May / June. They will probably close it to the public for the rest of the year around then.

Yes!! This is awesome!!!!!! So it sounds like the tours will be open.. GREAT!

Well then, you might be the one to ask this question to: I need a new cell phone. I was thinking of the Motorola KRZR K1. I am going to get a new one (new phone that is) next week, and I was wondering if you had any experience with these. After all it is easier to get a phone to work with the car then the car to work with the phone. My heart is not set on this one, so if you have any suggestions on what phone I get so it works very easily with the car, I would appreciate your advise!

Also, (and this might be a question you can not answer…..), I am concerned about the performance driving class or experience that I get to go through that day. I hear they give you a comparable model car, so you know how far you can push your private car when you go home. Well, I am getting a 6 MT and I have never had a MT before. Obviously, I can get around in one, but I do not know "best practices" with having one, so I was hoping that the person who will be my coach will factor that in. Your thoughts on this?
