Alignment
Anyone have any suggestions where to get an alignment done? I have had bad experience with Big O. I'm looking for one in Broomfield area if possible.
TIA! |

I recommend just taking it to the dealer. There's more to aligning a BMW the most people think Alfred. Just make sure they give you a proper print out of the before and after specifications.

Yeah BMW does alignments on oem 21's so some 19's won't be an issue.

Oh? What is that? (not trying to be a smart @ss, just want to know). I was planning on going to BimmerHaus (service only BMW) for alignment, which is in Broomfield. Would you not recommend them? How about AutoSport Werks (service Audi, BMW, Porsche, and VW), also in Broomfield. I don't know either of their experience with e9x, I presume they're e30/e36/e46 (etc) shops.

I think Murray did Matt's car. They aligned Matt's using E90 specifications which is different from an E92. Like I stated above, just make sure they picked the right vehicle.

Alfred, I'm having BimmerHaus do a corner balance and an alignment today. I'll let you know how it goes. Not sure if you had this done or not. I'll be happy if they just stick a mechanic in the driver's seat when they do the alignment, either that or their 180 lb shop dog.
If that's the case I'll just let BimmerHaus do it. I want it corner balanced with ~just~ me in there and a 3/5 tank. The in-laws like to look at the car, but don't like to get in it. If the car looks like a Grapes of Wrath vehicle with 2000lbs in the back with a couple of strippers back there, I won't care (at that time).

So far, so good. Alignment: $148, Corner balance: $124. Not the cheapest, but great service. They met my expectations. There was something like 60 years of BMW shop experience between the 3 guys that were at BimmerHaus that day.
FYI, I have KW V3s and Vorshlag Camber Plates (which are pieces of art underneath the shock tower). Here are my specs: Left Front: Camber: -1.9 deg Toe: 0.09 deg (Caster is full forward on both) Right Front: Camber -1.9 Toe 0.09 Left Rear: Camber -1.8 Toe 0.12 Right Rear: Camber -1.8 Toe 0.11 Corner Balance (in lbs): 1062 | 1007 -------------- 945 | 911 Total weight, 6/10 tank, 180 lb driver: 3925 lbs (Ugggh, tain't no e36 !)
