I agree, it's nuts not to have 3rd party property at a minimum.
I'd never go without comprehensive either. Even if you have an accident which is the other persons fault, if you have comprehensive your insurance company will claim the money off the other party which will save you a LOT of work if they do not want to pay up. |

So assuming comprehensive Insurance would have cost you $6000, ~$5000, ~$4000 in years 1, 2 & 3 (cheaper as you got older), then you are already $15,000 ahead! Allocate $1-2K from that windfall to repair/replace the bumper, and then trade the car in and upgrade to the new 5 series you wrote about previously.

And shop around - I often find GIO competitive and don't forget Shannon's - as long as your car is garaged you may find they can do something to help. Even try a broker perhaps?
