Replacing new 2011 mirrors with older ones
Got my new ride. I really am not fond of the new side mirrors. Some people think they look more aggressive. Although they do provide larger view imho, I just miss the look of the older ones.
Does anyone know if they can be retofitted with older ones? Anyone interested in exchange? they are brand new black metallic, electric folding from the premium package with 200 miles on them lol Thanks skimo |

Trying to do the reverse
I'm in the process of trying to switch from a pre-LCI mirror (2006) to 2009 LCI larger mirrors. I am using a set of 2009 mirrors that I got from a used parts dealer. I will let you know how it goes, maybe that will be of help to you. The mirror switch attempt will be done in about a month from now.

I thought the exact same thing when I had an LCI loaner car. I like the egg shaped mirrors of the pre-LCI much better than the new ones. Good luck on the swap.

If $$$ is no issue, you should also consider M3 Mirrors.

Yes, if you have the premium pack option.

I just drove 2011 loaner for 4 days and like the new mirrors more since they seem to provide better visibility. However, aesthetically I like the way mirror covers look on my 2007.
The mounting bracket looked the same, however, I did not have a chance to take both apart to compare. Hopefully, someone who tried the swap can chime in. |

Swapped from pre-LCI to LCI door mirrors
Today I swapped (actually my mechanic did) my pre-LCI mirrors for LCI mirrors. I have the premium package and everythings works on the LCI mirrors: mirror adjustment, tilt downwards in reverse and folding. I don't have auto-tinting mirrors, and neither does the set of LCI mirrors I bought, so I can't comment whether that feature would work. Really pleased with the swap, like the added size of the mirror.

I miss the pre LCI mirrors, loved their shape.
I just think the M conversion is way to $$$ for what it's worth. |
