Huper Optik Nano Ceramic Window Tint - BTU Test (Video)
Just thought I'd make a quick video to show Huper Optik's Nano Ceramic heat resistance with a BTU meter for anyone interested in ceramic tints... After researching tints for a month or so, I came to the conclusion that Huper Optik had the best options for Ceramic tints.
CORRECTION: It's 30% on sides and rear / 50% on front Hope it helps a bit... Last edited by BabyEater; 08-02-2011 at 06:22 PM.. |

The front isn't as intrusive as you would think... Even at night. Even though the tint is advertised as 35% and 50%, it's actually not as dark as other tints I have seen at the same percentage such as limo or mirror. You can easily see outside through the day and night while driving. The quality of the tint is holding up very well, no scratches or flaw marks from what I can tell, but I've only had it for about 2-3months.

You mean price wise?? Yea, most likely... I paid $450 for the sides and rear and an additional $120 for the front... Normal tint you can get for around $75-$200 or so.

Haha, oh heck no. I'd ruin that expensive tint. Professionally done and lifetime warranty from not only the shop, but Huper Optik at any of their authorized dealers. So if I ever have any issues, I can have any authorized Huper Optik dealer retint it for me. |

So, just another testament on how awesome having Huper Optik installed on our rides is... As hot as shyt it is out here on days like today in Houston, 110degree index, 105degrees on the temp guage, the HO reflects the heat so much that I have to turn my Auto A/C Temp up to 78degrees cause it's too cold, even in this weather. No longer do I have to suffer through the days of sweating in my car, on the leather, to wait for the A/C to cool the cabin up... Definitely and still is the best mod purchase I've made to date...

Nice video, thanks for the testing. I knew it had to work. I have the same thing. I knew because with normal tint it usually took a day to dry out any water/air bubbles but with the huper optik it took forever!
Thank again for the test!

Couple questions: How does this compare to the "standard tints" like I have? Have you done the test in comparison?
Also, how "cool" does it stay since it keeps heat out?

@BabyEater
Thanks for the video. Thinking about getting this, but I wonder when temps are 90+ all day for like 8 hours with your car being parked out in a non-covered parking lot, how does it feel when you get in? Have you done the BTU meter test for longevity like this? I have felt the difference under a heat lamp but curious to know as the sun pounds on the car for hours at a time if it is able to still keep most of it out. Obviously heat will transfer through the car's chassis through insulation/liner and into the cabin, but granted through the windows is where most of the heat comes through. Also, what percentage did they use on your front windshield and are those registration/inspection/permit decals sticking onto the tint? Any issues with replacing those decals? |

My front is 50% and my installer cut around the stickers so I can just take them off and replace them when the time comes without damaging the tint. I've already had to replace my stickers and had no issues. |
