Drained the 4qts of atf again after 15k. Shifting much faster and smoother again. Plan to do this every 15-20k miles/1-2 years.

Also installed genuine Bmw wipers, quiet and they wipe nicely.

Washed the 850i. Single stage black paint, goes in for ceramic coating this month.

Love black when it’s clean, but it’s a royal PIA to wash…

I was putzing about my wife's car this morning and noticed a decent oil leak coming from the valvetronic sensor. You know, the one in the valve cover that was JUST REPLACED A YEAR AGO IN APRIL '22!!!
Luckily I had a seal on hand, so swapped it out in a couple minutes.

I think the cause was that the sensor connector is offset a few mm to the left, which pinched or deformed the gasket seal just enough to let some blow-by past.

I tried to really seat the replacement as best I could, and will be keeping an eye on it...

Thanks! It’s simultaneously more simple and more complex than the E90, which is fun. It’s a 6 speed too!

I'd be on time but popped a vanos code and potentially a ruined second engine lol. Don't have my oil filter wrench and I'm not ruining the cap with a generic one so there it shall sit

If I had the patience to try wrap again I might consider. After doing the interior trims third iteration, I've decided I'd rather not do the entire car myself lol

For a couple of years I had an aftermarket M sport bumper, fitment was good, but the paint didn’t match. I found a clean oem alpine white one last year and it was perfect.
..I got rear ended the other day!

Bought another one

I have a 330i 6MT which I'd been driving for a few years now. I plan to keep it as long as I can, but I wanted to also get an E93 328 6MT and had been looking for a while. Instead I found this E93 335i auto. I still prefer the manual transmission but this automatic isn't too bad.

Glad to hear that you caught her, I got a picture of the guy that ran after hitting my car while parked in the driveway and will likely never get my deductible back. The case went to an auditor and they said my lone witness, a former roommate wasn't "neutral". I guess the combo of a picture of his tag as he was fleeing and a witness didn't count. I hope that her Insurance Provider pays a premium for the accident and her premiums jump substantially.

Changed the oil in the E91, windshield upper seal which was a pita and pulled out some old fluid out of the brake master and power steering reservoirs and replaced with new fluid. I’ve read that doing this a few times is close to as good as changing the fluid entirely and way easier.

Did a light polish on the headlights with a pad and then “sealed” with some random paste wax I had to keep them clear.

Also started putting together a 3 stage intake to put in it maybe next weekend

Question for you. Does a wrap have to go over an edge to hold on? Thinking of modest side stripes on my E91 along the belt line but didn't want to commit to painting.

you need to check CLOSELY 10-15 video online.

Then you can start with trim, like chrome delete, mirror cap, handles. Don't start on big panel . Bumpers are the most difficult. all dents on panels will show under the wrap. A full prep is needed with primer.

Use legit wrap, 3m is popular, vinyl frog too.

Make sure you use a reputable manufacturer, if you miss a panel, it's easy to order the exact same colour cut to your needs.

Depending of you confidence level, you can buy spare, but not necessary.

I would choose a color that will fit with a non-wraped roof.

yes you have to have a underline cut, wrap around the edge, few mm. Best advice I got , it not to stretch the wrap on large pannel. Some dip you dont have the choice to heat and stretch, but avoid it on hood, fenders and doors. It will be visible after some heat cycle outside.

good luck, I personally did only small parts mainly for chrome delete, it's fairly easy with quality product, but it's also expensive if you mess up.

Large panel you need a helper.

If you succeed, there's a big buck saving right there, I dont know at your location, but here people don't move under 1500-2000$ man hour only

As far as side stripes go, so long as you aren't stretching the film/vinyl then you will have no issue with peel backs. Peel backs will only occur if you stretch the piece to sit on the car ad the heat will bring the vinyl to its original shape. So no stretch and you will be golden. Keep in mind as well that vinyl brand will make a difference. Cheaper vinyl will have weaker adhesive backing which will peel back. If you are afraid then add adhesive promoter to the edges.
