So the guy asks a question about pushing the car to its performance limits on back roads, and you respond with drift cars? Please don't be retarded. Drift cars are specifically engineered to do one thing and one thing only, and last time I checked, no one in this thread is drifting their bmw.

Drift car setup is completely different than grip driving, and I doubt too many 335i owners are out drifting every corner when they go for a nice drive. A drift car is set up to slide, whereas most of our cars are set up more akin to a grip car, designed to stick in a corner rather than throw the tail out. |

Now with that said the reason you don't see people pushing their stanced cars like that is because they are built to look good not to perform well. Not saying they can't do it but that is not why they were built. Low and slow is a term used because most guys interested in stance don't particularly care about tracking their cars or even spirited driving for that matter. Furthermore, a huge concern for most stanced cars is shitty roads. If you take it to a track that has predominately smooth roads they could essentially push their cars pretty hard if they had the right suspension set up. So a stanced car just like a regular car would still need the proper suspension set up to be fun "in the twisties". |
