In my opinion meaty doesn't have to be wide, some examples of 17-18" tires with some thick ass side walls would be considered meaty.

But I am in complete agreement about some of the posts in here, like 19" setups with non-aggressive specs.

ahh missed that, Nice Setup I am tempted to go down to 17 from my 18x9.5 as fitting a 265 in the front with them would be a bit tight. I am 255\35 SQ but that will be changing soon just debating what to do next for tires.

I completely agree with you, just like mindovaanything. His are 17 but 265 Sq and RS3 are a wider tire anyway completely qualifies as meaty. Theses are the posts I want to see to grab ideas and find out what people are using on the track for wheels pecs also. I don't see it as somebody that has 305 but a good sidewall with tread width and more track orientated than anything.

Keep them coming!

295/25 on 20x10.5" rear Hankook V12
245/30 on 9" front Nitto Invo
Forged1 Split 10 wheels, no idea on offset.

Overall shot of the car.

Decently wide, but the 20"s don't look as "meaty" as some set ups. Rear fenders rolled pretty aggressively, it rubbed non stop when I went up from 285's to 295's. Now could probably fit a 305 in there. KW V3's, rear has had a tiny modification for rim clearance. I'm considering 255's in front, but the plastic fender worries me and it's already rubbed holes in the front of the fender liner from turns so going to a slightly larger tire won't help that.

This whole time I thought I was running 265/40/17 and turns out they are actually 255/40/17 so not quite as meaty as they could be.

Personally I miss the larger sidewalls of my old 255/40/17 tires compared to my current 255/35/18 tires. I'd call the 17's meatier, even though they are roughly the same width.

I don't think OP was clear at all about what his interpretation of Meat is, yes he did post up an M3 with some wide tires but he responded to the post on page 2 stating how much he liked the submission with meaty sidewalls. I am in no way trying to bash your opinion of meaty sidewalls but I thought this submission was pure gold and he was only running 245/275.

I can agree that is a meaty setup, so maybe I'll take a couple steps back with my comment, but that still doesn't clean up the mess we can see in these type of threads that makes me want to drop my head onto the keyboard.

I'd say this is good. Best of both worlds! Wider than stock on the first pic. Hell, I'm going to go 255/30/19 on my front as soon as they wear out. I've already tested out the rear rim with my 275/30 tire on the front and it almost works (about 3mm to 5mm of clearance to the strut). I don't think 265/30 is impossible to do in front.

And the second pic with nice sidewall meat -- with looks to be slicks to boot....

Can't believe this is called the meaty tires thread and some people come in here to post stretched tires.

haha still trying to figure out how you missed this. 265/40 in the front with those tires would be be a very tight fit.

Why am I seeing pics with NO specs?! these cars look tooooo damn awesome to leave us hanging on the specs!!

i jst bought a set of vmr vb3 18x8.5 18x9.5. i would like to know if u guys think if 245/40/18 and 275/35/18 would be too much tire on my current suspension set up. im currently running OEM Style 162s 18x8/18x8.5 235/40/18 265/35/18 20mm spacers in the rear. im dropped on eibach prokit w/SP perches and stock sport shocks
