They just add weight to compensate for the driver + potential passengers which isn't really necessary unless you are going for a corner balance but that is more for track set ups. Most alignment shops would be using the Hunter Alignment rack which uses lasers that communicate with the sensors they will place on the edge of your wheels to give an exact measurement of your current alignment spec. Also it would be a lot cheaper than the dealer. The dealer will also give you stock alignment specs which are terrible for tire wear(reason why a lot of BMWs have inner tire wear problems due to high toe settings). Wayne at Performance Auto Express is really knowledgeable on alignment specs that fit your needs.

agreed, yeah i went to the drive@ucr thing once, mostly jdm, saw a maserati there tho :O
