let me tell you man, you guys are the talk of the town at the airport. when i was flying smaller planes at the regional level, we would often rant about our wages, (we still do in the mainline level too ) , and we would always point over to the cranes at the port and say, "Look you see those guys?! they make $xxx!!!" lol
sleep in your own bed every night, operate giant machines. good stuff.
just know that your often thought of 'across the street', we support you! ha!

I`m a company guy so no OT for me.. but it is a good gig..
if your in the ILA it`s great.
Though the hours will surprise you... for example if your working the ship that berthed tonight your not going home until sometime Sunday... they do get blows though, ie 5 on 3 off etc...

Love watching the planes land, its like clock work if you follow it for a prolonged period of time.
