Very dependent on driving style, I used to get about 16.4mpg mixed cty/hwy and would still get on it. On the hwy, cruising about 65-70 MPH I would see about 24mpg. It will drop pretty fast is you ride the throttle all day long, the worst I have heard was about 13mpg city, pedal glued to the floor.

Nice! The Hwy totally beats the EPA number. 24 MPG HWY and 556 HP. Now I wish I had $68,000 to buy the one I want.....

Wait long enough and that CTS-V engine will be appearing in the new Camaro.

It just depends on what you like really. I'd always take the BMW over the Caddy, but I just don't like that flashy, look-at-me exterior of the Caddy.

Wasn't until this thread that I learned how biased this forum is to BMW. WOW!

I know if you hit a Mustang forum they think the the stud is the only car in the planet, and best one out there, didn't think that biased BS was that prevalant here.

Heck, I own a 335xi with the Dinan stage 2. Bar none, this is the nicest and best driving car that I've ever owned. How many AWD 4-door grocery carting-kid hauling sedans out there can walk away from a good portion of cars on the road?

That being said, it's not the best car out there. It still has its faults.

For example, take starting. My 2008 GMC truck as the ghetto style tumbler from the beginning of car time. BUT, all I have to do is rotate it for a fraction of a second to engage the starter connection, and the PCM will take over and deal with starting the truck.

My 335 has a starter button. Why do I need to hold the button down until the engine starts? Pretty sure if it did start, the PCM won't allow me to keep spinning the starter. I hit the "power button" on my PC. I don't keep it pressed for 3 minutes until it boots.....

So I think it's funny listening to people bash the Caddy because it's US made. I have no experience with the new V. Nor had any seat time in one. Now I have a 335, it does raise the bar pretty high for the next car I'd get (I do like their power/handling/fit and finish). Perhaps I'll be a 3-er for life. That being said, still open minded enough to take a V for a spin, and openly consider it or any other car out there.

Maybe you need a HPFP software update. Or a new pump altogether

You don't, unless you have problems and it long cranks or whatever maybe. Mine, I just push it and it starts, no holding down.

Weird... My 2008 needs to have the button held until it starts. If it just press and release, it will turn over once, and sits there with the dash all lit up.

If I hold it, it spins a couple of times and fires everytime.

I have to hold it down as well or I'll get the same thing you're describing.

I don't have to hold mine until it starts; I just can't press and release too quickly or it'll turn over and quit.

FWIW, I've never had to hold down the start button. Mine's 50K miles, daily driver, never failed to start with a quick press of the button. 330i, though, not 335i. Anyway, we're OT. For a DD, I'd prefer the 335i over the CTS-V. I think the CTS-V would be more fun to drive, but IMO it's too flashy and I can't stand Caddy's "sharp angles and chrome" styling.

Weird. Just tried it again. Engine was slightly warm though (don't know if it matters). I can hit the button fast as I wanted and it would take over and start.

But have had several occasions where I pressed and released quickly (secondish) and it spun, didn't start and stopped.

You can't, because you do not possess the gift of magic.

If that happened, I would summon arcane fire 3 and melt the tires off your car.

I sold my 08 335xi coupe after 5 visits to the dealership for plugs/fuel pump/carbon buildup/faulty injectors/software updates/cranks/no starts/stalling/leaking mechatronic seal on highways going 65.....the car was about to be lemon'd except i was beyond the VA lemon law statue....2 years or 25k miles

Enough is enough already. Brand whore/image or not, a POS is a POS..... (sorry but my car left me butt hurt and stranded too many times...50k for a new car with that many problems is a lemon)....

The fact BMW can't man up and replace a bad fuel pump after 5 years and continues to throw the same POS pump into new cars is beyond comprehension....

Brand whore or not, I was no longer one after the ordeal I went through. Brand new 335xi ordered 10/07, delivered 12/07, sold after 35k miles....the worst 2.5 years of ownership..... I sold my car for the amount I owed on it...$25k after 2.5 years, paid ~50k for it....

Let's hope the C63 doesn't let me down or I may go for a CTS-V (sedan)...

I don't see the use of 550 HP if you're not at the track...handling is more important.

But honestly, neither car seem good...the 335is seems pricey for a 3 series, even non-M. CTS V....not a fan of caddilac, and I don't know how she handles...and I doubt the 6MT is any good if there is one?

Dunno...no real good cars in that price range.

Small luxury = 3 series
Mid luxury = none impress me...maybe the 5, but its really not that good
Large lux = S class, panamera

60 K is a weird price point to be at. If I could take RWD, M3 sedan with NA engine would be my choice, but its not likely to exist much longer.
