Time to dig up this thread again. Is anyone running downpipes, secondary cat delete, stock xpipe and muffler ? Mine became raspy as hell and I want to install these resonators to get rid of the rasp. Anyone got a sound clip ?

It shouldn’t as I have almost the same setup except I have a catback also. The stock mufflers will muffle the sound even more as it has more Fiberglass packing material I suppose.

I did it vrsf dp to 1792s to stock exhaust no drone no rasp I even tried burbles on moderate and can barely hear them but at wot sound intoxicating a thick exotic tone like a gallardo or older v12 Ferrari I am very pleased. I heard 335is with same setup and was rasp and tin and the bmw pe is nice with cats but without I felt sounds good but I dont know if I would want daily I also have my flap disabled which I was going to keep as a backup encase drone. I am entertaining the one side pe mod and using my flap so I have more wot sound and same or less light throttle but it is so perfect I dont think i will mess with it for fear of changing tone I would only do if was guarantee of increase in volume of exact same sound

https://www.bumberas.com/blog/2018/6...h-pipe-exhaust According to this it can, but that's one article. Regarding 1790 vs 1792? Fitment is the main deal there. It's a sh@t ton easier to just slide the 2.38" oem exhaust pipe into the resonator & weld it shut, than it is to cobble some sort of adapter pipe over both the resonator and oem exhaust pipe. The 1790 is 2.25" wide. So, the pipes don't match up. I don't know if the actual resonators themselves are different in size? 1790 vs 1792? I can only say the pipes coming out of each of the resonators are different in size.. I don't have rasp or drone & I have an X-pipe. |

The resonator is same length but the baffle def smaller and from my mustang days an x pipe def gives that crackle like it deleted the vacuum cleaner from the sound if that makes sense. I had borla and flomaster both rumbled but when I did a bassani x pipe it gave a fuller sound

That extra quarter inch should be an extra 9 sq inches of sound deadening

So, not only is is easier to install the 1792, but it does give you better sound deadening too. Cool beans !!!! |

You can use 1790 or 1792, it doesn't matter which one you use. IMO you are much better off using the 1792's for the reasons of fitment.
