We need somewhere with space for photos, food & drink.

Either ...

We try to meet at Donington Park, in the motor museum car park and if that works out badly head for the Westbound Services on the A50 near Derby / Shardlow

OR

We just meet at the Westbound Services A50 Derby / Shardlow (DE72 2WW)

We could try Castle Donington... or Elvaston Castle (might be able to convince them to let us use their grounds??)

I think it's going to be a mess about, even bothering going to Donington, so I think we should just meet at the services, or a local pub, carvery etc.

Right then, we're no longer meeting at Donington then, it's now elsewhere!

Once we've decided for definite, I'll alter the promo sig.

I'd prefer somewhere like a country pub serving food, with a big car park for the photos.

I'm picky, I know!

Right then

Here are the two best pubs in Ashbourne (well, the two best who don't charge silly prices for food...) and they are proper country pubs.

The Rose and Crown, Mayfield, Ashbourne
01335 342498
www.pickledginger.co.uk

The Cock Inn, Clifton, ashbourne DE6 26J
01335 342654

Also can try - http://www.bentleybrookinn.co.uk/

OR...we can head into the Peak and find some awesome places... but it's a bit further in!

But you'd better check their serving times. Remember UK1?

Nice work, Tony.

Just one thing- we're staying in Ashbourne on the night, so it that where everyone fancies meeting up?

It's about 35 miles north-west from Donington, so there's a risk of moans from the southern boys!

Sod the southern boys (and I'm a southern boy) - if we're going to drive 130 miles from Cobham to Donington, what's the extra 35 miles going to matter? It's 162 miles from Cobham to Ashbourne - we can do that in two and a half hours or less...

I think it'll be a good idea to meet in Ashbourne - a) we're staying there anyway, but more importantly b) we can drive into the Peak District... good roads, great view....

All the best.
