I see and respect your point. My previous business was buying...modding...selling (shipping worldwide) high performance cars. Most of the work was done on this car when I bought it. Plus, I buy my cars way back of wholesale. In the end the $ I will have in it (may be) the turbo upgrade....N02. I say "may" because you can get 500+ with stock turbos.

Here is what I would invest to get it to this power range.

N02 $300-$400
Meth (Have it) Bought used for $350
AR 3 in Downpipes: Bought used $450
Turbo Upgrade: $2000-$5000
________________________________________________
$6200 (worst case) in parts
$3000 in labor (worst case) I have some hookups from previous business.

To get to 600 rwhp range. I will have less than 10K invested in it. I bought back of wholesale. So, taking that in consideration and any change in the market. That is really about a $5000 loss.

Not anywhere near a 100K 335i.

Why do I want that much out of a 335i? Simple, I like the N54 platform and I believe we are only starting to see what can be done with this setup. More cars are coming off of warranty and the price is getting affortable enough on the 335i used...so people are really starting to experiment with them. Same as people did with the Supras...Evos...Sti's ect.

The biggest reason? Once again, simple for me. People expect a Corvette...Cobra...GTO...STI...EVO...SUPRA....GTR. ..M3 ect ect ect...to be fast. People don't expect a non M to be very fast. The fun of it is the suprise factor for me.

I have owned many high performance cars in the past (from my previous business) They were all a blast in their own right. The sleeper factor is what wins for me.

Anyone local have a BT with VINs left? I would love to bum off one of the VIN (Paying for it of course). I think I'm gonna be pulling the trigger on a used JB3. And if anyone would want to help a cripple (currently since I haven't healed from a previous accident yet) install the JB3 with me I'll be more than grateful. I rather have a veteran with me than have me completely relying on videos for the install.
