Space grey with fox red. Competition package wheels are matte black.
I love it. This car was made for DCT the stick pales in comparison. Drove a manual V8 S5 this week and the stick in that just felt much better.

btw, i saw a red RS5 for the first time ever on the road today. did you guys deliver one of these bad boys ?? it was pretty amazing. although the sound is a little underwhelming. wished it sounded more like the AMGs... still looks very cool though.

Sooooo.... If anyone has need of financing , mtg renewals, debt consolidations, new purchases, etc... Both personal and commercial send then my way. Chances are that red RS5 is the owners son (Gabriel group). I agree stock sound is nothing special. Aftermarket exhaust= beautiful sound.

So we are off to Mosport (Canadian Tire Motorsports Park) tomorrow for a three day bonanza of track/lapping/instruction. Been a while since my last outing.
One of us will be his first experience at Mosport... Another one of us will be his first track experience with a totally different beast (GT3 RS) ... Looking forward to discussing our line selection and speeds at different spots on the circuit. Looks like we will get a good mix of weather conditions... |

So as described to me, Mosport is as a "must visit track", I haven't been disappointed. She's been beaten up somewhat, but boy what a thrill none the less.
By my third session out I was starting to pick at places to gain some speed. The head instructor made us newbies do an exercise first thing that was invaluable. He forced us to drive the wrong line on entry for the first 10 minutes. If you have never tried this exercise (I hadn’t until then), I recommend it. By the end of the day we were all attacking the track with greater zeal. There are few more seconds out there to improve on this weekend. Looking forward to Saturday and Sunday. Lots of track time.

Saturday at Mosport was a wet one for most of the day. The high winds, driving rain and cooler temperatures made for a sweet day. Antoine made the switch to better rain tires and me, once the deluge let up a bit. Hoosier Wet Radials should be on every avid lappers list of must haves. I also got a chance to play on the drenched skid pad and try out some drifting
Trillium BMW has put on a great event. Very few mishaps considering the weather. Last session of the day ended with instructors and A group on track, only to be cut short by a loose hood that folded back on the drivers windshield down the back straight. That must have been a shocker at 180Km. Cooler temps today and sunny. Should be a wonderful day. Turn 5

Yup. Quite the blast. I really enjoyed the track. Plenty challenging. I'm back at Mosport in early October for thanks giving. I'm hoping it will not be too soggy. Thrills, spills and automobiles.

It was a great event... rain and shine. Thanks to the guys at BMW CCA Trillium for a perfect organization.
My times were much improved. (Fastest : 1:40.38) My car performed well. Joel was even faster Chris' car is ... oh my.. awesome and very potent. Corded my NT01s... need new fronts. Nice weather on Friday, mega rain in all but the last session on Saturday, Nice and cool weather on Sunday. The drive back was uneventful and easy... thanks to my co-travellers. Here's a pic of myself in the rain. |

spun the RS on the very first day between corners 9 and 10 and landed about 1 feet away from the concrete wall (somebody up there was watching over me that day)... tapped the brakes while i had too much steering angle and the back just washed out. unlike the m3, the rear engine layout made it difficult to bring the car back under control once a big drift starts to happen.
lucky me, i didnt break anything or damage the car. only thing i had to do was to unmount and remount the tires on one of the wheels due to the mud and grass that was stuck in the wheel. 2nd day the track was soaking wet so took it easy for a few sessions then decided to call it a day early. 3rd day was nice and cool with lots of sunshine. i didnt better my lap times that i did on the 1st day. took it easy for the whole day and decided to concentrate on familiarizing myself with the car's behaviour. felt very comfortable with the car by the end of the day. i think i can push it a little harder next time i go back to the track. thanks Joel and Tony for the help with the tools, wheels, etc....
