i didn't like this mod, the droning at low rpms is quite annoying, i think it's for the kids on the board who want to be noticed
it doesn't assist horsepower or performance at all edit: I come from driving a Viper, so I'm pretty much sick of loud and obnoxious, it's harder to engineer a car that performs silently |

Careful with this mod... What would seem to be a simple thing actually caused an issue for me. I didn't go the way of the golf tee or bb, you can disconnect the actuator in the trunk behind the driver's side tail light access panel, which is what I did. After about 10k miles I started to develop a pulsing in my throttle at constant speeds - after two trips to the dealer and discussions with BMW engineers, the found that the computer was making adjustments because the resonator valve was not closing and creating a mild back pressure issue.
FWIW the issue took forever to develop so if you really enjoy the sound and don't mind having your adaptations reset every so often - have at it. |

I noticed it at highway speeds. It isn't bad and you really have to hit the exact perfect RPM, but it's there. |

First I've heard of this.. I've had mine unplugged for about 15k of my 20k miles and do notice a pulsing at idle occassionally. I just attributed it to BMW's awesome fuel pumps. Anyone else have this pulsing at a constant speed? |

No pulsing here, although my butt dyno told me there was some what of a power loss when I disconnected the plug (my car did not feel as responsive).. And yes the droning on the freeway was too annoying for me. I have since plugged it back in and have not had an itch to take it back off.

dude i really don't know what to say. the left one even had that close out feature was because it was too loud for "target market". so you don't want to "ruin" your car, so you rather switch 2 stock exhaust that guarantees warranty for 2 aftermarket exhaust that no1 knows what the long term effects will be (prob none) but still.

No gains
An aftermarket cat-back exaust is a better option. There cannot be "droning" with this mod. The increase in sound compared to stock is...quite frankly...not worth it.

A) Man up. Go to the gym, get some muscles.
B) Take a knife, cut a horizontal slit in the direction of the nipple and pop it right off then cut the hose with a scissor. It'll only be a quarter inch or so shorter. |

I do go to the gym lol...well sometimes...but my way of thinking is if I yank the shit out of it, it'll give and I'll smack my knuckles on the concrete garage floor... ...just like I yanked the shit out of my shifter knob and got a 6MT imprint in my head. Edit: Followed Jay Kay's instructions and worked like a charm. Sounds great. More responsive and seems to shift a little smoother....gurgle on deceleration/shifting is more pronounced. Woohoo
