Hello Guys

Just got the update of my 2011 N55 335xdrive. Since the car is fully updated since last week with the last version of Ista P, do I still need to run NCS expert for the paddle issue?

Thanks

Yes you would need to use expertmode and code the EGS module to default in order for paddles to work correctly.

I have followed your tutorial to a T and have successfully flashed my TCU with the alpina flash! High Five sir!

My car is a 2011 N55 E90 with paddle shifters. I read the instructions to get them to work but i want to make sure i have the proper files before continuing because i dont want to ruin the TCU or something haha. May i PM you and/or text you?

Edit: Just wanted to add that i used the BMW Coding VM - V3 found here...
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1220039

to do the flash so big thanks to nate16 too! hopefully that will give you an idea of what im working with.

OP (or anyone else equipped to answer), i missed the cut off date by 3 months my build date is 12/06; surely there must be something i can do even if it means updating my ecu etc or other modules/components to make the flash work. If not, is there a different flash, program or tune that'll enable faster shifting? I have f1 style paddles and i use them daily, faster shifting will certainly highten the experience!

Sick interior. The only way you would be able to flash would be updating the tcu by buying one on eBay or taking it off a transmission built after the cutoff month

Hi guys,

I have a 2006 e92 335i with N54 engine.

Will this work on my car? (Since it has the N54 engine I wanted to take my shot and ask it here!)

No, it must be 03/2007 or newer.

Digging deeper to try and understand what's going on, I have to report there is another way.

There are two coding parameters in EGS that can be changed, to get the paddles working correctly on Alpina B3 flashed LCi cars.

The one issue is that the newer LCI paddles are resistance based, unlike the 07-08 paddles (which is where the Alpina B3 flash originated from ?). Another issue is that the shifter interlock needs to be activated, as Alpina coding has it off.

See attached: Changing Electric Interclock to aktiv and changing Shift Paddles Type to wert_02 brings back the paddle functionality on LCI cars.

Should that folder labeled EDIABAS Testfiles still be showing in my Ediabas ECU file after I have overwritten all the other files?

Does it matter that it is still there or should I simply delete it??

It is not required. Delete all of the files/folders in C:\EDIABAS\ECU, then re-import your DATEN file(s).

I appreciate all the help but man i'm feeling like i had an information overload :\

I found a bunch of links for the spdaten but they are all the wrong version or they are deadlinks.

I've been following the guide http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1196830 but it had to reformated windows. At that point, I couldn't do it anymore.

Anyone here that help please? Thanks,

Does anyone know how to deal with this problem ? It happens on the last step before hitting "program".

Disconnect cable from laptop and car, remove key. Then, hook cable up to laptop, then car, insert key and push start button one time to put in accessory mode.

1. You can't flash with car running
2. Key must be in slot, can't use comfort access
3. Driver latency must be set to 1
4. JB4 must be in map 0 (if you have one)
