New York is a major market, no one can deny that, but SoCal has been neck and neck with NY, and last season the Lakers surpassed the Knicks and LA became the most valuable market based on revenue. This is with a metro area that is nearly 10,000,000 people smaller mind you.

Exactly. With a likely Top 10 draft pick, some room under the cap (especially if they dump Nash and Gasol), LA is likely to lure a big name star. Kevin Love is in the running, and unfortunately so is Carmelo. I hope Carmelo stays in NYC. I think a squad with Kevin Love, Kobe, Nick Young, Marshall, and another good role player will go far.

That being said, Larmarcus Aldridge is an absolute beast. According to the "current" playoff picture, if the season ended today, Clippers would be playing against Portland in the first round, that's a tough matchup IMO. He's a less physical but better ranged Zach Randolph who gave Griffin fits last year during the playoffs.

I'd much rather face Dallas, which Houston would be facing right now if the playoffs started today.
