A single turbo would be better with a DCT car since it takes longer to spool up so the torque doesn't drop right at once. The twins is almost instant torque so it would be a lot harder on the trans

Good point.^
I know Wedgie has worked on a backend flash which helps the DCT. I'd talk with Wedgie and BuraQ if you're planning that to put that much power through the DCT and half shafts.

Yea I agree. Talk with them. But you should be good at 600 anything over that I'd be afraid of. You are still skating on thin ice

It's not like you can rev or anything in drive with the clutch disengaged, really not sure what the purpose of that programming actually is, but I like the DCT programming on the IS much better. Now if it only had adjustable launch control and an LSD...
Yeah once you start modding the IS the launch control is useless in my experience. Launching at 5k RPMs cant be good on the tranny especially with more power

600whp sounds like alot of power, and torque for that matter, on the stock clutch pack.

I'm not sure if it is true but I heard the M3 and IS share the same DCT just the M3 has different trans tuning on it and people are pushing around 600 wheel without problems. But torque really is the number you would have to watch when it comes to breaking transmissions or frying clutches

Hi all,

Actually have had the car for about a year and a half. Came from an old e46 328Ci w/ Dinan Stage 2 that I had for years.

Absolutely couldn't be happier with this ride. Acceleration from a standing stop or at freeway speed is incredible. Actually makes me look forward to stopping for toll booths. I was about a year without a car when I decided to pick up a used e92. Didn't even know about the 335is at that point, glad I did the research and found just what I wanted. Blk/Blk 6 MT with Nav/Prem/Cold. Some days I wish I had the DCT, but overall I'm glad I got the 6 MT.

Only thing I do miss is not having the park sensor package, considering a retro-install. Car is still CPO'd for a bit so I'm not really considering any mods before that runs out.

One of my favorite low impact drives when the weather is nice is just out to Skyline Drive and back on the various Virginia by-ways.

I've heard the same that the M3 and IS have the same DCT. and yeah depending on what the torque will be at 600whp, you may have some problems. i have my own issues with traction now with my setup, i cant imagine what 600whp would be like lol

Great pics. Beautiful car I voided my warranty after 500 miles, that car is an animal with mods

Hey guys,

Probably going to to sell the sapphire black 2011 335IS DCT in a year or so. Car is fully paid off by then. I have 28,000 miles on this thing and it's bone stock. Not one single mod. 19" 313's with premium package (no comfort access or navigation)

Rare color combo Black with Brown interior. love that combo

What do you think I could fetch one year from now? I wont even put another 1000 miles on it by then because I only drive it some weekends.

It is a sweet ride that has required minimal add on's to make it complete.

A 2011 335is with around 30K miles...$35,000-37,000 private party depending on the market you're in and time of year. I'm assuming it's pristine.

Without Nav. you won't get that much, I looked at several before I got this one and missed it did not have comfort access, but that was solved with the smart top module.

Smart top module?

I paid $37,5 for mine two years ago with 29k miles and fully loaded except for heated seats and parking sensors. I think these days you would get between $30-$33k depending on area.

Even if you have comfort access you still have to stand by the car and hold the key fob down until the top is either up or down. And if your in the car you can't move. With the smart top you can program it for several function's and not stand there and wait for the top to go up or down. I get ready to leave the house, hold the button down while I am in my kitchen and the top goes down while I am getting into the car and putting stuff in it's place. There are 6 different settings you can use making the windows go up and down, top up and down and even rolling as the top goes up and down. It's not a cheap mod, but by far the best one for our convertible's.
