Just wondering what everyone is doing to meet the 32-bit requirement on a 64-bit laptop?
Partitioned drive running another OS? Running in compatibility mode? I dont have too much memory to install another OS on my laptop (sad..) |

Virtual machine -- and fyi, "memory" refers to RAM. You probably mean you don't have enough storage to install another OS.

All that said though, how to set up a VM is sort of out of the scope of this thread. There are people here like myself who are familiar with it and willing to help, but I'd recommend Googling around and/or tinkering to get your basic VM environment setup. This thread is primarily to help with getting the coding environment set up inside the OS, coding properly, and discussing the coding features themselves.

For some reason thats been baffling me for a good while now my derestricted 335d halts at around 140mph , you can feel the reigns being pulled. Superchips say the car is restricted to 185mph so there is no reason for it to choke at 140, they have even upped the EGT threshold but still it just throws in the towel.. I've come across a code
GB_V_MAX_KMH --> Value 01 Any insight ??.. surely it's not as easy as that ?!? bit loathed to mess with the setting because I'm unable to test it as not due in Germany for another month or so There is another value RUECKSCHALTUNG_AKT_KMH --> 210 KMH But i believe this is the value at which it wont kick down a gear if you exceed ?? |

I believe that an FSC Code is needed to raise or remove the VMAX limit. It can't be coded.

NiVeDh coded my E92 M3 yesterday in person. Really great guy. I've met him before, but this is the first time I've seen the garage he works in. Incredibly knowledgeable and we went to the same grad school so that's a plus . I can't wait to go tracking with him.

I knew that, but what is PWM used for and why code it different than its default?

Because unlike other coding options, it's not a simple preference that gets set differently for different regions; it's a setting that's illegal in some places (hell, maybe globally for all I know), so enabling it is more difficult. But there are DIYs if you Google around.

You're sure you got the right cable from that site and the shipping is free worldwide... I ordered mine from Belgium. Got it in about 2 weeks. |

If one is running a VM of WinXP on a 64 bit laptop, do we follow Juniors PDF and work only in the VM OS?
Or in other words do we install drivers on the 64bit original C:/ drive or install within the Virtual OS. C:/ Drive? |

Everything, including driver installation, has to be done in the guest OS since that's where the apps will be running. Make sure the VM solution you choose has a way to "attach" USB devices into the guest OS.

Thanks JP. Installing all drivers within the VM was what I thought I had to do. My problem was letting the VM have access to the USB devices. I have finally been able to install drivers. We'll see if it works now! |
