DISA's do have issues though not swirl flapcritical in terms of rate of failure but they still have issues, poor unstable running can be a symptom of this item, you can usually hear them chattering and when removed the action isn't that smooth usually slightly notchy I've not witnessed one fail myself though I've seen one in very poor health that would of died had it not been changed. Remember some N spec engines don't have this item though

Well worth the upgrade, I done it myself so worked out cheaper. Iv only ever heard of there being a problem with flaps on older cars. It's near on non existent on the newer manifolds. My friend was a mechanic at bmw for 6 years and he never heard of a manifold problem on an n53 engine. Only engine problems he knows of with the n53 is the ignition coils.

Nice! But sadly the Supersprint option isn't available to the OP, because Supersprint don't make downpipes for RHD cars and the LHD system fouls the steering column...

I'll post a dyno run after I change the oil and the spark-plugs, probably next week.
For the ECU remap I went to http://www.leib-engineering.de/

I want that 260bhp!!!

Hi, I've just bought my 1st BMW I am really please with my choice. It's a 2006 e92 325i Autovogue and has the 2.5L petrol engine. I've driven various models prior to buying including the e93 330 3.0L 272bhp. I went for this one because I figured it would be cheaper (tight arse!) to upgrade bhp compared with the Autovogue upgrade which I believe is around 4k.

So getting to the point; looking at the intake mod in this thread it looks like its been done on 3.0L engine only, has anyone done it on a 2.5L engine? Fundamentally I'm assuming they're the same block just different size cylinder bores, and that the air intake on the 2.5L and 3.0L are the same and achieve 218bhp as standard!?

Hope someone can shine some light on the subject for me, 'cause if it can be done I'm jumping in with both boots for that 260bhp!

Any one else had this done? I'm thinking of having it done in a couple of months.

Check the contact page on Mosselman's web site:

http://mosselmanturbo.co.uk/contact/

It only shows two dealers in the UK,

Mosselman Dealer Ware
Chip-Tuner
Bay 3 Marsh Works
Marsh Lane
Ware

Mosselman Dealer Romford
AutoEnhance
Unit 1 Northgate Park, Collier Row Road, Collier Row
Romford, Essex RM5 2BG

You will need the variable length intake manifold used on the 330i, which is supplied as part of the upgrade. The intake is OEM. Your car will be hooked up to Mosselman for the remap, which is linked to the car's VIN.

Resurrecting old post. Recently spoke to Gareth at Maptech and it sounds like they do the Stage 2 with 330i manifold for only £285. Any idea why this would be so much cheaper then the MStyle for £1400 ?

They include a new manifold, new disas, and fitting in that price. Maptech's price will be tune only, you'll have to source and fit the parts yourself. But others have spoken highly about maptech, they definitely seem to be the best option.

Thanks - that makes sense. Appreciate the feedback. Apparently the 3 stage manifold can be hard to come by?

Took me about a month of trawling international ebay but that was a few years ago. You might have more luck contacting a bunch of breakers or lurking on the facebook groups.

335i are pretty cheap now, you sure it's worth trying to get more performance out of your N53 instead of just changing to a different car?

Hi.
Does anybody know if parts 11617593004 and 11617564679 interchangeable? Do you think ...4679 compatible with n53b30 325i engine?
Thanks
